Shelved under Limited Supply Challenge

best-witches-002.jpgHere is today’s (Friday) Limited Supply Challenge card.  The rules are as follows:

Challenge 1Make a Halloween or autumn harvest scene using 3 or more stamps.

Challenge 2

Make a Halloween or autumn harvest card using an animal stamp not meant to be used for this theme. Add stamps to make it a Halloween or autumn card.

Challenge 3

Make a Halloween or autumn harvest Tent Topper Card.

We were also to ‘limit’ ourselves on embellishments and layers.  I really scaled it back!  I usually have three layers to start then build on top of that.  It is harder to do a card with less layers, at least for me.

I decided immediately that I wanted to dress up the rhino from Zoofari in a cute halloween costume.  I used the pumpkin from Thoroughly Thankful as his costume and the witch’s hat from Festive Four.   I have NO halloween sentiments, so I handwrote the sentiment “Best Witches”.

My colors are Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White and Lovely Lilac.

i-only-have-ties-for-you-002.jpgWell, here’s my Ways to Use It Challenge card for today.   I used prismas color pencils and a blender for the image.  I really do need some help in the coloring area.

I used bright primary colors as I wanted it to be a fun card.  The stamps are from Hambo.  I get such a kick out of this little ’set’.  My hubby never dresses up, so I thought he could use some ties. :)  I created the tie by making a knot in it an wiggling it around until it looked like a tie knot… then I snipped the end and added the brad as a tie tack.

Enjoy!

Shelved under SCS Sketch Challenges

big-news-001.jpgYou know how you can be happy for someone, I mean REALLY happy for them… yet just a little jealous at the same time? Well, that’s how I’m feeling this morning. My friend, Lisa, has been interviewing for her dream job for several weeks now. Last night she got the call and the job is hers! We’re talking 6 figure income, company car, expense accounts, travelling…. the whole ball of wax. The sad part is, it is going to take her away from New York. Sad for me, great for her!

This morning’s sketch challenge card is for Lisa. She’s a whole lotta country, so I tried my best to recreate a ‘boho’ look. I used Basic Grey Infuse and Blush papers to cover the chipboard (also from Basic Grey). My colors are Chocolate Chip, Mello Moss and Regal Rose. Mega congrats, Lisa! I’ll miss you!

give-peas-a-chance-001.jpgOk! I’ve been asked numerous times when I would start a blog. Well, here it is! It’s under construction, so please check back frequently for updates!

Here’s today’s Color Combination Challenge card.

I used my new Hambo Stamps! I just love these little peas all nestled in their pod. I chose a fairly simple layout, but spruced it up with some Infuse (Basic Grey) DP, my new hardware and the PERFECT ribbon.

I met up with Ann (abmurray) from Splitcoaststampers.com on Saturday. We did a little shopping at Buffalo Stamps. I found this cool hardware kit that comes with all kinds of buckles and photo corners and nifty stuff… 300 pieces in all. I just *had* to have it! It was great meeting Ann and her son, Ian. After shopping we all went to Tim Horton’s for iced coffee and a chat. Ian entertained us!

I’m new to this blogging thing, so please bear with me while I learn the ins and outs :)
