Shelved under My Favorite Things

mftdt-timeless-love-002.jpg  Here’s my **sneak peek** at Boho Blossoms, available October 1st from My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) .   Another set packed with fun!  This one has gorgeous flourishes in the flowers and hearts as well as abundant words to make into sayings.

I used the large flourish heat to create my background on the certainly celery layer.  I chose this piece of BG paper because of the gorgeous colors and floral pattern.  Ran with the colors.  The sentiment is stamped over the flourish in black and punched with SU!’s Designer label punch, then matted with red and black circles.

Ribbon is from A Muse (www.amuseartstamps.com) .

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ Boho Blossoms

Colors: Basic Black, GP White, Real Red, Certainly Celery, Basic Grey DP

Ink: Graphite Black, Real Red, Certainly Celery

Accessories: Ribbon, brads, dimensionals

mftdt-good-friends-004.jpg   Are we having fun yet??  Here’s another **sneak peek** at a new My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) set called Meet Me At The Cafe.   This set also comes available on Monday, October 1st.

Maybe I use this color combination too often, but I absolutely love it and let’s face it, my Cool Caribbean is going to run out soon.. *sigh*.   I absolute adore this set!  Besides what you see here, there is a cute little poodle, other periphenalia and several sentiments… some in french!

I’m not feeling all that well this morning (my son shared his strep throat with me)… but I did feel like stamping.  I didn’t have any designer paper that would work for me, so I created my own using pencils with erasers.   I am so loving that technique.. I wish I could remember who I first saw do it so I could thank them!

Come back tomorrow for another sneak peek!  By the way, if you’re liking what you see, Kim at MFT is offering all five new sets for an incredible $65!  There are so many stamps packed in these 5 sets, that’s an awesome deal!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ Meet Me at the Cafe.

Colors:  Basic Black, Real Red, GP White, Cool Caribbean, homemade DP.

Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Versafine White, Cool Caribbean, Real Red

Accessories: White grosgrain, dimensionals

mftdt-drive-me-wild-001.jpg  It’s A Jungle Out There… arriving October 1st at My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is featured in our Sneak Peek today.   This set is awesome!  There is a lion, elephant, giraffe, monkey and tons of foliage to play!  The set also comes with several sentiments that are so fun :)

For the sneak peek, I chose to ‘make a scene’.   I first colored my background in copics.  Then I stamped on the foliage in Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip.  I stamped, colored and cut the girl and lion.. popping them up for dimension.  I really love the way the Floral BG looks on Wild Wasabi in black.  It gives it a ‘jungle’ feel.

Tomorrow we will be previewing “Meet me at the Cafe”.. come back and see!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ It’s A Jungle Out There, SU!’s Aida and Floral BGs

Colors:  Basic Black, Marigold Morning, Wild Wasabi, GP White

wt133-birthday-magic-003.jpg  Today’s SCS WT Challenge was to include food in your project.   I really have no other food stamps other than SU!’s Stew Pot Pals (long ago retired), and do you think I could even find it? Nooooooo! :D

I chose this little Birthday Magic set by Wadsworth.   I didn’t get a chance to do the paper piecing challenge during Dare To Get Dirty week, so I went for it today.  I picked the Palette O’ Prints (SU!) for this card.  At first, I didn’t like the colors, but they’re really starting to grow on me :)

Stamps:  Birthday Magic by Wadsworth

Colors: Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Marigold Morning, Palette O’ Prints

mftdt-hugs-kisses-003.jpg  Weeeeeee!  How fun is this?  How Sweet is this?  How Sweet It Is!

I used yesterday’s SCS Sketch Challenge to showcase this fun little set.  I actually had it made yesterday, but had to go with Plan B as I was a day ahead.. my bad :)

My hubby said, if she had a laptop sitting in her lap, she’d look like me! LOL.  He’s hilarious.. I don’t eat THAT much chocolate.. most of the time.   I chose these colors because I {heart} mint chocolate.. and I thought she needed some pink to be girlie.

How Sweet It Is will be available October 1st from My Favorite Things!  Check them out at www.mftstamps.com !

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ How Sweet It Is

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, GP White

mftdt-merry-christmas-001.jpg  For today’s Sketch challenge, which is awesome as usual, I chose My Favorite Things’ Home for the Holidays.   This is actually “Plan B” card as Cindy put it.   I was so anxious to post a card using a new set from MFT, but I’m a day ahead of schedule!   So stay tuned tomorrow to see the new reveal and Plan A.

Now poor Santa has eaten a few too many cookies and doh!  he gets stuck in the chimney.   Thoughtfully, we didn’t start a fire on Christmas eve!   My kids use to ask me about that when they were little.  It almost frightened them to think of Santa falling into our fireplace… so on Christmas Eve, it has become a tradition to put the Yule Log DVD in and watch our fire on the big screen tv! :)

Stamps: MFT’s Home for the Holidays, Rugged BG (SU!)

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Cool Caribbean, Real Red, Certainly Celery, GP White and Basic Grey Blitzen DP

Shelved under Color Combo Challenges

triptych-peace-002.jpg   Today’s color challenge was to use Old Olive, More Mustard and Bashful Blue.   Well wouldn’t you know, I have no More Mustard :( .   I wasn’t giving up on the challenge, so I went with Marigold Morning and distressed it with Tim Holtz Tea Bag Distressing Ink to make it look like More Mustard.  It really is close!

I just have to say that coloring with Copics is such a pleasure.  The colors are so vibrant and they don’t streak!   This set (SU!’s Holy Triptych) is perfect for coloring, too.   I wouldn’t normally use these colors for a Christmas card, but what the heck, I think it really works!

Stamps:  SU!s Holy Triptych and Perfect Endings

Colors: Marigold Morning, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, GP White, Basic Black

gel-card-003.jpg  I always enjoy the TLC challenges, but this one tops my list.  This card was so much fun to make.  It’s quite simple to do and you can find the tutorial here:  Beate’s Gel Card Tutorial .   Basically, you just need your cardstock, some hair gel (clear works best, I think) and a small ziplock bag.  I used a 3 x 4 inch bag.   I found them in general crafts at JoAnne’s.

I needed to keep this pretty simple, because I made it for my son Noah’s 15th birthday (9/24/92).   I saw on SCS (sorry, can’t remember who it was that mentioned it) someone used a pencil eraser to make dots for a background.  I thought this was just genious!   I used the pencil eraser with cool caribbean on the panel behind the dolphin.  It really stands out IRL, but hard to see in the pic as the gel creates a glare in the photo.   Needless to say, he loved the card.

Stamps:  SU!’s Silly Sealife, Linen Background, Sincere Salutations

Colors: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Cool Caribbean, GP White

naughty-or-nice-003.jpg  This week’s Featured Stamper is Kristina (starofmay on SCS) Werner.   Check out Kristina’s blog here: kwernerdesign.   Kristina has a really Fresh style.   I love the simplicity of her cards, yet they all have pizazz, too!

I chose to case this card by Kristina:  Snowmen.   I changed up the colors and images, but kept the integrity of her beautiful design.

I so enjoy the FS Challenges.  I don’t normally case anyone,  but it is such a treat to honor these awesome stampers, each week.   I want to thank Beth (MyPrecious) for doing such an awesome job of picking new, fresh galleries for us to drool over!

I  chose to use this little Kitty Christmas set by Cat’s Pajamas (www.thecatspajamasrs.com).  I cut the image of the three penguins apart so I could use them individually.   This card makes me smile.  I am putting it in my Christmas card stash for this year.  Maybe it’s coming to you ;)

Stamps:  Cat’s Pajamas’ Clearly Swanky Kitty Christmas

Colors:  Night of Navy, Sky Blue, GP White, Basic Grey Jack Frost DP

Shelved under Inspiration Challenges

hello-angel-003.jpg  This is for today’s Inspiration Challenge seen here: Inspiration Piece .  I, amazingly enough, do not own a little girl stamp (other than a real cutsey one, that just wouldn’t work).   I chose the angel from SU!’s Holy Triptych.  This set is perfect for coloring with Copics! :)

I used my old stand by, Aida bg on the Pumpkin Pie layer in Vintage Violet.  It gives the aida an aged look.  I wasn’t sure about these colors at first, but now I’m loving them!!   I was thinking of someone to send this to.. I think I will send it to my neice.  She is truly a sweet young angel.   Her name is Sami Jo and she is in her 3rd year of college.  She is studying to be a photographer.  Her pictures are soooo amazing.   Love this girl!

Stamps:  SU!’s Holy Triptych, Aida BG, Karen Foster Snap Stamps

Colors: Vintage Violet, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, GP White
