hdt-snail-mail-002.jpg This is for today’s Sketch Challenge on SCS.   It’s really funny, because I basically used this same sketch yesterday, just a little more gussied up.

Today I went for my Hambo Stamps.   Monica sent me this adorable little snail and sentiment and I’ve been dying to get it inky.  Isn’t that little snail the cutest??  :)  Also, my friend Shelly sent me a  bunch of Basic Grey Lollipop Shoppe papers, so I just had to pair them up with this little critter.   Thanks so much, Shelly!!   The piece I used is called Key Lime Pie.

Stamps:  Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, GP White, Basic Grey Lollipop Shoppe

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories:  Brads, ribbon, swirl clip, dimensionals.

in-the-pink-003.jpg  For yesterday’s Color challenge on SCS.  Our objective was to use pinks.  After doing this card, I realized she wanted us to make something other than a card, so I’m going to have to go back and redo this challenge!

I’ve fallen in love with SU!’s Basic Gray.  I never used much gray before, but it goes so well with so many colors!  Here I’ve used it with Regal Rose, Basic Black and Sarah DP’s from SU!.  I chose the Think Pink set from MFT, because I needed this card for yet another person with cancer.

Stamps: My Favorite Things’ Think Pink (www.mftstamps.com) , Aida BG

Colors: Regal Rose, Basic Black, Basic Gray and Sarah DPs.

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories:  Brads, ribbon, slit punch, dimensionals.

chocolate-hugs-003.jpg for Monday’s TLC on SCS.  We were to make a treat slider.   I needed a special treat for someone who is really ’sweet’, so I chose this set (How Sweet It Is) by My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com).

The wrapper for this 5 oz. chocolate bar is two layers.  The Chocolate Chip layer is cut 10 3/4  inches x 6 3/4 inches and scored at 3 1/2, 3 7/8, 7 , and 7 3/8 inches.  The second layer is cut 11 inches x 6 1/4 inches and scored the same as the Chocolate Chip layer.

I couldn’t figure out the ribbon pull in the example we were given, so I created my own.  The polka dotted ribbon is simply adhered to the chocolate bar and wrapped around with a pull tab at the end.  It slides in and out easily!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ How Sweet It Is

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Only Orange, Georgia Pacific White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Brilliance Cocoa Bean, Copics

Accessories: Ribbon, ticket corner punch, circle punches, scissors, dimensionals.. and Chocolate!

lsc-101207-001.jpg For last Friday’s LSC challenge on SCS, I made this card to send to a young woman with cancer.

Our challenge was to make a card with no brads, ribbon, hardware, designer paper.. we were allowed to use punches.   I was inspired to use SU!’s floral BG in black (for drama) on Wild Wasabi and Regal Rose.   I came up with a quick layout using MS Paint, and it came together rather quick!   There are stickles on the vase, butterfly and flower centers.  The flowers (vase) and sentiment are from My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com)

Stamps:  SU!’s Floral BG, My Favorite Things’ Bundles of Bouquets

Colors:  Wild Wasabi,  Regal Rose, Basic Black, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: Circle punches and ticket corner punch

Shelved under Hambo Stamps

hdt-thanks-for-support.jpg  You may or may not have noticed, but I’ve been a little quiet lately.  So much going on with family and in my design world.

I received a really neat e-mail from Monica at Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com), the other day.  She asked me to be a guest designer for Hambo during the months of October and November.   She already knew of my love for Hambo, so I said yes, of course.

This is my first sample for Hambo.. and it’s really a personal thank you to everyone who supports me.. both here and on SCS.    This image (bra) is so cute!  It’s perfect for paper piecing, as are many of Hambo’s designs.  They’re great for coloring, too!   I used SU!’s Palette O’ Prints here.   The bra and the main panel are both on dimensionals.

Stamps: Hambo Stamps

Colors: Brilliant Blue, Marigold Morning, Georgia Pacific White, Palette O’ Prints

Ink:  Graphite Black

Accessories: Slit punch, brads, ribbon, dimensionals, cuttlebug scalloped square (cut in half).

Shelved under My Favorite Things

mftdt-gentle-reminders-002.jpg  October 1st begins Breast Cancer Awareness Month…. something My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) takes seriously!  For every set of Think Pink that is purchased, 50% of the retail proceeds  will be going directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

I, personally, have been touched by breast cancer in a big way.  I lost my mom to the disease in 1992.  Since then, 5 of her 6 sisters have or are battling the disease (and doing quite well, I might add!).

I made these simple little 3 x 3’s to remind the women in my life to get checked.   I will make at least 20 of these and send them or hand them out during this month.   I’ll even get my own mammogram done this month!   It’s time for me, is it time for you?  Please get checked!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ Think Pink

Colors: Basic Black, GP White, Regal Rose

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Regal Rose, Copics

Accessories:  Ribbon, Brads, Dimensionals
