Shelved under Color Combo Challenges

a-simple-smile.jpg  Good day!  As you can see, I actually got to stamp today.  I sent DH off on some errands and did some playing.  I haven’t done a challenge in over a week!

I love today’s colors.. white, soft sky and basic gray.  Of course, I had to sneak a little black in with it :).  I am so blessed to have received this Posies for you set by Anna Wight (WHIPPER SNAPPER DESIGNS).  I received it as a gift from Tracy Harp (LodiChick) and I fell in love with it immediately.  I also used some luscious Memory Box papers that were sent to me by Kim @My Favorite Things.  Thanks ladies!!

How was your Easter?  Mine was truly blessed.  I was able to have my boys all together for a big turkey dinner and they really loved that it was just us this year.

My schedule is still a little hectic for the next few weeks, especially with the first ever Western New York Splitcoaststampers gathering coming at the end of April.  I will be sporadic, but hopefully, I’ll be able to keep ya’ll updated!

 Here’s my card deets:

Stamps: Posies for you by Anna Wight (Whipper Snapper Designs); Smile by SU! (fancy flexible phrases)

Colors: GP White, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Soft Sky, memory box Ariel DPs

Ink: Brilliance Graphite black, copics, white gel pen

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, oval punches, scissors, slit punch

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

easter-blessings.jpg  Good day!  I have a confession to make.  I have been taking some time “off” from stamping/blogging and just spending it with my DH who is currently laid off.   It’s been so nice to have adult conversations (uh, not that kind!), and we’ve been catching up on some things that have been left undone for awhile.  Oh, yes, Marisa… I still owe you a card or two! LOL

I did manage to pull off the Color Combination challenge this morning as I need to make several more Easter cards in the next couple of days.  At first, I didn’t think these colors would work as an Easter card, but I love their subtlety.  I even managed to use my Tres Chic background that had yet to be mounted.   I’m happy with it!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Oh, So Lovely and Tres Chic (both SU!)

Colors: Kraft, Orchid Opulence, Sage Shadow, Basic Black, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite black, Versamark, copics

Accessories: HPH frame and brads, ribbon, dimensionals. scallop circle punches, oval punch, scissors

*************************************************************

I will be making some changes to my box instructions later today.  A couple people have asked for the corrections and I apologize for not doing it sooner.  I simply forgot.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

worm-wishes.jpg  Good Sunday, to you!

Today is a particularly melancholy day for us.  We are seeing off a family that has been with our church for many years.  They are moving out of state and will be sorely missed.  So, I used today’s Featured Stamper challenge to make them a going away card.

Today’s Featured Stamper on SCS is BeckyTE.   I chose this gorgeous card of Becky’s because I loved the layout (my usual draw).  I kept her layout, changed colors, DP, image and sentiment.  I also moved the brads.

DH and DS are feeling much better this morning, but I’m afraid the days of downtime have left my mojo wanting.  I am trying to use up some of my lesser used colors (brocade blue, barely banana for example)… and some older DPs.  I have new colors and DPs coming this week, and promised myself I wouldn’t break them open until I clear out some of the old.

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Balloon Worm and worm wishes sentiment by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Brocade Blue, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Certainly Celery, copics

Accessories: tiny brads, tiny grosgrain ribbon, circle punches, word window punch, designer label punch, stipple brush

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

ltns.jpg  Good Saturday, to ya!  I thought this was an appropriate title/sentiment for today as it has been days since I’ve been able to post.   I apologize for no sketch yesterday and my silence.  We’ve had a case of the ’sickies’ in our house.  I’ve been playing nursemaid to my DH (flu) and DS (conjunctivitis).

My mojo is just not where it should be today, either.  I’m hoping I’m not coming down with their creeping crud.   I went to my studio with the Inspiration challenge in mind.  I cut paper for two different cards and neither of those panned out.   So I went really simple on this third one.  The ‘balls’ are made from the lollipop from the Very Punny set.  Everything is on dimensionals.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps:  Seal and Sentiment by Hambo Stamps, lollipop from Su!’s Very punny.

Colors: Real Red, GP White

Ink: Brilliance graphite black, copics

Accessories: scallop punches, scissors, dimensionals, ribbon

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

oak-for-you.jpg  Good day!   Happy Tuesday.  Today’s Color Combination challenge is to use Basic Black, Basic Gray and Purely Pomegranate.   What a luscious combination!   Now is when I’m really missing that black velvet ribbon I can’t find! LOL

I went with a fairly quick card this morning as there are many things to do, places to go, people to see :).   Once again, I let my punches do most of the work.  I did stamp and cut the flower out twice.. once for the outside stamped in black on purely pomegranate, then the center is stamped on Regal Rose in Purely Pomegranate.  Each layer is popped.

I’m working on some projects today…hopefully, I’ll be able to share later :).   With my DH home (layoff), I’m going to utilize his energy and get some things done (honey do list).   Hope you all are having a fabulous week!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  One of A Kind by Stampin’ Up!

Colors: Basic Black, GP White, Purely Pomegranate, Basic Gray, Berry Bliss DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Purely Pomegranate

Accessories: Build a Brad, brads, oval scallop punches, oval punch, designer label punch, circle punch, ribbon, dimensionals, slit punch

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

heathers-bunny-bag.jpg  I am totally goofing off this morning.   There are so many things I could and should be doing, but I had to take the time to make this.   This is Heather’s Bunny bag.   Heather is a sweet little young lady who attends our church.  She is about 8 or 9 years old and has a HUGE crush on my hubby who sings in the church’s praise band.   Every Sunday, Heather seeks out my hubby to give him a hug.   She is the cutest!!

For Heather’s bag, I was inspired by this cutie by jdmommy on SCS.   Since there were no instructions, I created this one on my own.  This is what I did.. first :

card-bag.JPG  For the inside, I created this pocket.  It measures 4.5 x 4 tall when complete.  Then I took two pieces of cardstock measuring 5.5 x 5.25 to create the covers (front and back - sandwich the pocket inbetween them).

I covered my front piece with Basic Grey 2 scoops paper and decorated with Eggstra Special Easter from My Favorite Things.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps: Eggstra Special Easter by My Favorite Things

Colors: Barely Banana (base), GP White,  Regal Rose, Basic Grey 2 scoops DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: mini brads, ribbon, ribbon punch, swiss dots ef, scissors, designer label punch, word window punch, scoring blade

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

very-punny-minis.jpg  Today’s Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers.com is ParisOtremba.  You can check out her gallery here.  I have to admit, I was not familiar with Paris’ work,  but a trip through her gallery and I was so inspired!  Really beautiful gallery, Paris.

I have to say I’m on a mini kick right now.. I apologize to those that aren’t into them.   I chose this little group of cards by Paris to case.  I really loved the simple layout.. and I stuck to it pretty well.  I did use the same set as I just liked the way they fit so nicely on these little cards.  I changed DP, cuttled the added layer, added brads, changed the ribbon treatment and used a scallop circle instead of a square.

I’m going to make a box for these, you gotta know that! LOL

It’s pretty WHITE where we are this morning.  The snow has fallen steady for the last day and a half.  We are at about 10″, but some areas around here have up to 2 feet!  I’m pretty house bound, but with the studio calling……… :)

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Very Punny by Stampin’ UP!

Colors:  Brocade Blue, GP White, Rebecca DPs (retired)

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: mini brads, mini grosgrain ribbon, scallop punch, circle punch, cuttlebug EF, dimensionals

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

float-my-boat.jpg  Good afternoon!  I’m a wee late getting to the sketch challenge today.  I apologize, but hey, we aren’t under any time restraints, so we’re all good!

We’re going to square it up this week with this sketch:

thsc7.JPG   Feel free to change the circle to an oval or a square or whatever you want.  There are no wrong cards!  Use keyword THSC7 if you’re posting to Splitcoaststampers.com.  Also, if you link back here, I will see it quicker :)

We’re going to make this a dual challenge if you’re up to it!   I made my striped ‘designer paper’ using my copic markers.  You challenge is to make YOUR own dp, using whatever method you want!

I dug out my Boatloads of Love set that hasn’t seen ink in quite a while.  I’m always seeing really darling cards with this set, but it never comes to mind until I see one.  Well, today I was cleaning off my shelf and low and behold there was Boatloads!   It’s like meeting an old friend again that you haven’t seen in awhile ;).

Here’s the deets on mine:

Stamps: Boatloads of Love by Stampin’ Up!

Colors: Green Galore, GP White, Brilliant Blue, Real Red

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics, white gel pen

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop punches, circles (Cricut), ruler (for DP), scissors

TFL! …. Now go play! :)

serenity-now-minis.jpg  Today’s Limited Supply Challenge on SCS is simply to use scraps and make a card 4.25 x 4.25 or smaller.   Well, I love Jen’s challenges, but I’m not so sure this one was specific enough for me.. heehee..  I ended up making 4 minis and a box to hold them…. all from scraps!

I don’t know about you, but I need to do this challenge weekly if not more.  I have so many scraps!  I don’t throw anything away that I could possibly punch something out of or at least fit in my cutter to trim.  We’re talking all the way down to 2″ scraps.   All my scraps are organized by my son, Levi.   Every week, it’s his job to put my scraps in their proper bag according to color family.  He does a great job!  Now I need to use them more!

And since these little 3 x 3 cards were so quick to make, I made a box again… lol.   I think it would make a nice little set for a friend of mine who is always getting her friends together.   In fact, I have to go work with her in an hour or so, so I think I will finish off the inside of the cards and bring them to her :).

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Serenity Now by My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com)

Colors: Basic Black, GP White, Real Red, Pretty in Pink

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: Brads, ribbon, dimensionals, word window punch, swiss dots EF*

* I’m sorry Judy, I know I said I would give it a rest, and I did yesterday, but I NEEDED it again this morning :)

TFL!~ and have a blessed day

******************************************************************

Thanks, Marisa, for bringing to my attention that it’s FRIDAY and I need a sketch!  I have been so busy today, I nearly forgot!

I will put one together within a couple hours and have it posted!!   Sorry, girls!  Life gets in the way sometimes :)

little-lamb-box-and-cards.jpg  Ok, this is my last MFTeaser for the night.   Another box, you say!?  Yup!  I had make a miniature one to hold 3 x 3 note cards.  At first, I was thinking of shower thanks yous, but decided after I was finished that it looks little girlish.  I have a grandneice who is 6 yrs old and quite the little social butterfly.   I think she’d get kick out of these little cards she can give to her little friends.  Who knows, maybe i’ll make a stamper out of her one of these days!

All I did for my miniature version was to scale down my previous box.  If you want the exact measurements for the mini box …..

mini-box-measurements.JPG  This will just give you measurements.  You will need to follow my regular box tutorial for assembly.

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: My Favorite Things’ Punch a Bunch, Baby First

Colors: Barely Banana, Pretty In Pink, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: Brads, ribbon, dimensionals. Swiss dots EF, scallop punch, word window punch, scoring blade, sticky tape, circle punch, hole punch

TFL!~ and have a blessed night!
