~Hive Got News~
March 3rd, 2008 by Holly McMillen
Well, my friends.. I’ve got some great news! As of March 1st, I am officially a member of the Hambo Stamps Design Team. You can check them out at www.hambostamps.com . If you remember, I did a guest spot with them late last year. Well, I fell in love with Hambo and the whole Hambo crew. They have a really cool blog, too.. lots of fun and mayhem.
So, today, it’s officially Hambo day on my blog. All Hambo, all day. I’m starting out with three samples I made this weekend.
The first, above, is my favorite. It was truly a labor of love. You see, I was in my studio Friday night just playing with images. My hubby had gone to work 2nd shift at 3pm. I was standing at my cutting station messing with color combos and really struggling. Just when I least expected, I was hugged from behind. It was my hubby coming home early to suprise me! He didn’t skip a beat, just looked down at my image and said Certainly Celery. He was right! I was trying to use a brighter green. Sometimes he’s just brilliant!
The deets: ( I used last friday’s sketch challenge sketch for this one)
Stamps: Hive and sentiment by Hambo Stamps
Colors: Certainly Celery, Cool Caribbean, GP White, Real Red
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copic markers
Accessories: Brads, ribbon, dimensionals, word window punch, cuttlebug embossing folder

Do these Hambo stamps get any cuter, you might ask!? Well, yes, they do!! Who could resist a pig in a outhouse?!! I flipped when I saw this image and *had* to have it. Ya know, I live with 5 men…. there’s always a whole lot of stinkin’ going on 🙂
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. If you like to color, like I do, these stamps are flippin’ awesome. The rubber is deep cut and you always get a clean crisp image. They just beg to be ‘Copic’d’!
Here’s the deets on this one:
Stamps: Outhouse Pig and Stinking of You sentiment by Hambo Stamps
Colors: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa, GP White, Basic Grey Blush (Eternity) DP
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics
Accessories: pink brads, chocolate ribbon, circle punches, oval punch, dimensionals

This next one tugged at my heartstrings. I {heart} this Hambo image. It reminds me of when my boys were little. They loved to water the flowers, but tended to be heavy handed… heehee. And this sentiment! I think this sentiment is perfect here, but can you just picture a image of a pregnant woman with this saying?? Wouldn’t that just be adorable??
Ok, well I’m happy with all three… and I’m not done! I’ll be back later with more. Afterall, it IS Hambo day!
Here’s the deets on this one:
Stamps: Water Boy and How’s It Growing sentiment by Hambo Stamps
Colors: Basic Gray, GP White, Bliss Blue, Real Red
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copic markers
Accessories: lots of brads!, small dotted ribbon, dimensionals, stipple brush, mat pack (for lining up brads)
**************************BONUS!***********************************
I was inspired to keep going :), so here’s a fourth for ya.
I have been toying with the idea of purchasing a Scor-pal. I keep telling myself I *need* it. Well, I sat down with my scoring blade and started playing. Now, I know this isn’t an original scored box.. it’s all over the place, but I couldn’t resist decorating this one with some Hambos. Here’s the pattern that I used:
It’s the simplest thing to make… a simple square and equal score lines on all sides and you’re done.
For mine, I used my ribbon punch to decorate the handle. The snails were stamped, colored and cut out, then popped on with dimensionals. I created a trail from the snail to the sentiment with paper piercing tools (Mat Pack).
Here’s the deets:
Stamps: Snail and Happy Trails sentiment by Hambo Stamps
Colors: Green Galore
Ink: Elegant Eggplant (sentiment), Brilliance Graphite Black, copics
Accessories: Ribbon, Ribbon punch, scoring blade, scissors, mat pack (paper piercing tools); scallop scissors
TFL!~ and have a blessed day!
