tnt-cherry-on-top.jpg  Ok, so I’m having a little trouble with my mojo since the gathering.  My head is still spinning with all the great ideas I saw.   So, I decided that instead of doing things that are pressing me (I have some deadlines looming), that I would just do something for fun this morning and hope my mojo came along with me.

I’ve been toying (haha) around with this idea for a couple days…. and came up with this little “Tri-fold” type card that can hold a bevy of goodies.  As you can see in the pic below, there is a place to tuck a business card or even perhaps a gift card.

tnt-cherry-on-top-open.jpg  On the inside there is a place to put a small sentiment, but the card also opens up as a regular A2 card and you can write to your heart’s content :).

Now, I know someone is going to ask for measurements, so I came prepared today.  As I said, I started with a regular A2 size card (cut longways) in Real Red.  I cut the designer paper as follows:

trifold-card-holder-top-layer.JPG  <—– click to enlarge and you will see the measurements.  Then I matted that on a piece of Bliss Blue cardstock measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″.  The sentiment is stamped on the card base and the layers are up on dimensionals.

I sure hope my mojo sticks around.. it’s been touch and go this morning and I really need to get some work done!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Tart and Tangy (SU!); Cherry on top sentiment by Hambo (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors:  Real Red, Bliss Blue, Summer Picnic DP

Ink: Real Red and Garden green SU! markers (huff stampin’!); Craft White

Accessories:  Ribbon, oval punch, circle punch, scallop punch, dimensionals

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

Happy Monday!!  Well, I survived!  Our event (1st Western New York Splitcoaststampers Gathering) went off really well.  We had 50 in attendance, including Tracy (Lodichick) and I.  What a whirlwind of a day, it was, too!

We arrived early to set up and get our ‘kitchen crew’ moving.  Our kitchen crew (seen below) consisted of my DH, Don and Tracy’s DH, Greg.  They were awesome!!!  The food was awesome, too.  Kudos to the guys!!  It’s not easy keeping 50 women happy, but they pulled it off :)

Well, tomorrow is the big day!  Our gathering starts at 10:00am!  I’m about 99% done with my projects, etc.  and thought I would share a few things with you.

The former dirty girls (there are four of us attending) are each doing a product demonstration.  Mine will be on the uses of alcohol inks.  Here is my sample card using a background created with alcohol inks…

gathering-demo-card.jpg  I will be posting a tutorial on my blog next week to show how this background was made.  I used some of my left over background to paper piece the vase.  It (the background) has a great textured feel.  I used masking tape, mesh and white glue to give it that texture.

Here’s the deets on this one:

Stamps:  Vases in Vogue (SU!) and sentiment (Rosie’s Roadshow)

Colors: Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Real Red

Ink: Ranger Alcohol Inks, Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, ribbon punch, dimensionals, cuttlebug

**********************************************************************

Also, here are my 3D and Card front swaps!

3d-swap-for-wny-gathering.jpg  For my 3D swaps, I made mini boxes and cards to promote breast cancer awareness.  Each 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch box contains 3 mini reminder cards and envelopes.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps:  Think pink by My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com)

Colors: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, GP White, Regal Rose

Ink: Brilliance Graphite black, copics

Accessories: brads, cuttlebug ribbon die, dimensionals, cuttlebug EF

and for my card fronts:

cf-swap-for-gathering.jpg   Obviously, I am stuck on the black, red, green combination lately!  I just think these colors look so elegant together.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps: Sweet Serendipity (sentiment); Noteworthy (fourish); Wild Rose DD (Rosebud) and mini water colors (leaves); Floral (BG)

Colors: Basic Black, Real Red, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Real Red, Wild Wasabi

Accessories: brads, word window punch, ribbon, scallop punches, dimensionals

Well, that’s it for now.  I will be sharing much more after the gathering tomorrow!

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

happy-trails-multiple-challenge.jpg  Wow!  I can’t believe it’s Friday again!  The week has flown by.  I’m still quite busy with gathering preparations, but took  time out this morning to do a sketch for ya’ll (THSC10) and to cover a couple of SCS challenges as well.

My card is 4″ x 8″ and fits in a standard business envelope.   I was looking for a way to use some smaller or longer stamps with this layout and of course, went for my Hambos again.   Today’s LSC challenge is to make a tall or long card.  I also used acrylic buttons to cover yesterday’s WT challenge.

Here’s the sketch:

thsc10.JPG  As usual, this is open for interpretation!  No wrong or right cards.  Please use keyword THSC10 in your description so I can see it when you’re done, or link back here :)

Here’s the deets on my card:

Stamps:  Snail and Happy Trails sentiment by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Night of Navy, GP White, Pumpkin Pie, Bliss Blue

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: buttons, embroidery floss, ribbon, dimensionals, circle punch, designer label punch, oval punch

Now for a blast from my past….. I was looking up my high school’s reunion webpage the other day and found my senior picture!

reinders_holly.jpg   We are planning our 30th high school reunion in 2010…. I better get busy if I want to look anything like I did back then! LOL

levis-ribbon-organization-001.jpg  Hey ya’ll!!  I have not fallen off the face of the earth…. in fact, I’ve been stamping my lil heart out and creating like crazy for our upcoming event.  I can’t share that with you just yet, as I need to keep it a suprise for our gathering attendees, but I will  be posting them the night before the event (April 26th).

I have so much to do still.  I am making the table decorations, and I still need  to make 26 card fronts.  Oh, and we’re having a contest for the best nametag,  so I need to get busy designing that, too!  I feel like I’m in college… just about to pull a few all nighters.

On the homefront, DH is working daily(Yay!) and the boys are off for spring break.  I’m keeping them busy helping to organize my space while I’m doing everything else!  The pic here is Levi’s organization of my ribbon.  There are two drawers, but I thought one picture would surfice.  I also bought a big round glass bowl to keep my ribbon pieces in… it looks so cool with all the colors in it!

One bad thing about having the boys off school is that I can’t get to my studio before 8am.  It’s only 6am now and I’m chomping at the bit.  Oh well, a couple of cups of coffee and I’ll be raring to go by 8… heehee.

Hope you all have a blessed day!  Peace!

joyfully-casing-jodi.jpg  I have, I have!  I’ve been thinking of ALL my stamping friends this week as I’ve been a busy little bee.  I have all my swaps for the gathering to finish, though I’ve cut paper for them all.

I took time out this morning to participate in the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS…. because today’s featured stamper is one of my personal favorites……  Kharmagirl (Jodi)!!!  I just love Jodi’s style.  She’s also a challenge chaser, like me!  Jodi is such a sweetheart.  You have to check the challenge out if you haven’t already.

I chose to case this card by Jodi.  I am almost always drawn to layout first and this one caught my eye.  I changed up the colors, images and left the flower out in place of some lush brown velvet ribbon.  I also added brads.   All my images are Hambo (www.hambostamps.com).

This was a very quick card.  I needed something quick this morning as I have a male friend who is suffering some medical issues and I need to get a card to him.

My Deets:

Stamps:  Hive and sentiment by Hambo Stamps

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, GP White, Close to Cocoa Designer DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: brads, brown velvet ribbon, dimensionals

whats-up-chick.jpg  Happy Tuesday :)…  Today’s color challenge was a nail biter for me.  I adore bold colors, but when I pulled out these colors, I just had a yucky feeling it wasn’t going to work for me.   I was really in the mood for some springy colors this morning and I am still going to get to them, but a challenge is a challenge..lol.  I’m a sucker for those babies.

This image by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com) is soooooo cute!  This little chick taking her bath just screams spring.  I’m ready for it (spring), are you?  I can’t wait to plant my little garden.   We decided to do some veggies this year in our little 6 foot by 4 foot patch of dirt..heehee.   Anyone for some fried green tomatos? Yum!!!

Anywho… I’m working diligently on my swaps for the gathering, so I better get back to it!

Here’s my deets :

Stamps: Bathing chick and sentiment by Hambo Stamps

Colors: Real Red, Glorious Green, Night of Navy, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: HPH brads and square clip, dark blue dotted ribbon, cuttlebug, dimensionals, scissors

black-eye-susan-ty.jpg   Good day!  Well, today was DH’s first day back to work.  I am celebrating by stamping all day :).  I love ribbon, so today’s TLC was right up my alley.

I have to tell you, it felt strange to stamp this morning without DH hovering over me.  I actually felt relaxed and enjoyed what I was doing.  I won’t tell him that though… lol.  I’m working on a new Hambo sample for later today….. can’t wait to get that done, but first, I must start cutting paper for our upcoming SCS gathering!  19 days and counting!!!  It will be my first gathering and I am so psyched to stamp with other awesome stampers.

Have you been to a SCS gathering yet?  If so, tell me about it!  I hear they are a blast :)

Here’s my deets on today’s TLC card:

Stamps: Image by Rubbernecker Stamps, sentiment from Fancy Flexible Phrases (SU!)

Colors: Basic Black, Yo Yo Yellow, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: brads, ribbons, dimensionals, scissors, oval punches

dishing-dirt.jpg Let’s!  Here’s the dirt here…. DH is going back to work on Monday!!!!!  Woohoo!!!  All of your prayers and thoughts have really helped.  I can’t thank you all enough.   As much as I’ve complained about him being around all the time, but I’m so going to miss him!  Yeah,  I actually said that.  LOL

I needed to make a sample for the new “Can you dig it?” set from My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com).  This new set is packed with fun!!  I can’t wait to make another one with it.  It has so many different elements…. you really should check it out!

I made my own DP again.  The Basic Gray layer is striped with a black copic.  The smaller Brilliant Blue mat is dotted with a gel pen to match her dress.  Her little spade is cut out and popped on dimensionals.

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, white gel pen
