happy-mudders-day.jpg Happy Tuesday!!!!  I’m so glad to be able to post today!  I was without access to my blog and e-mail the last few days, and it was tough!  But alas, I’m back and today is a Hambo day!!! Yay!!

For a quick catch up…. DH is still unemployed.  Things are getting rough, but we’re tough people and I’m sure we’ll be fine.  I want to thank all of you who have been keeping us in your prayers.  They’re obviously working, as we still have food and a roof over our head.  Thank God!

I actually made this card yesterday for the TLC, but couldn’t get a picture (no light) until this morning.   You know I love to cut things out, so I thoroughly enjoyed making this colorful card.   The duck’s beak and feet are cut out twice and layered on with dimensionals.  I used the colors from the Summer Picnic DPs.  After I finished, I realize there are flowers in the DP, but I still think it fits the challenge.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  All Hambo (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Real Red, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Only Orange, Summer Picnic DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, white gel pen

Accessories: white brads, ribbon, scissors, dimensionals, scalloped circle punches

I’ve decided that since I didn’t post a sketch challenge on Friday, I’m going to go ahead and post this sketch (THSC8) as last week’s challenge.

Here it is:

thsc8.jpg  Remember,  there is no right or wrong card…. have fun with it and link back here if you like!

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

Holly, glad that you are back. I check out your blog everyday…you are an amazing artist! You give me such inspiration not just in paper crafting, but with life in general. You have a beautiful family and just by reading your post I can see how close-knit you all are. Something that seems so rare today. I can relate to the worry you are facing now with your husband out of work. My husband was laid off for close to 5 months last year. We all learned pretty fast the difference between “want & need”, and all learned that as long as the family was together and healthy, there wasn’t much we “wanted”. We had what we “neeeded”. You and your husband have built a great foundation with your family and I know with prayer things will work out. Sometimes for the better! My husband started his own consulting company, something he wouldn’t have if he didn’t get laid-off, and it has worked out for the better. So the sayings are true, “God only gives us what we can handle, and when He closes one door, He usually opens another!” I will be praying for you and your family with the knowledge that God will get you through to the other side!
Thank you for being such an inspiration!

This is an adorable card Holly! I love everything about it, though it’s never something I could do myself. (I’m more one-dimensional! LOL)

Keep your chin up – I know everything will work out fine. 🙂

I love this sketch and your card is beautiful!

Sorry to hear about your dh’s unemployment. Like others said, keep your chin up. My dh was out of work for 8 months a few years ago and we managed to make it through somehow. It was scary and stressful and I am so thankful that we had each other to lean on. Good luck to you and your family.

Holly, this card is ADORABLE! Love the duck, too cute! Sorry to hear that your family is having some troublesome times and I’ll pray that it is short-lived. Really like how this sketch looked so I gave it a try and here’s what I came up with: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/871011?cat=500&ppuser=95678 (Hope it meets with your approval, LOL). Keep your chin up, and a smile on your face and the good Lord will look down on you!

Hey Holly ~~ terrific card & sketch!! Sorry you’re going through a bumpy patch, at least you’re working, right? 🙂 My dh had to take a pay cut 5 years ago ~~ or lose his job. It was a HUGE pay cute, I was home raising our kids so no income there, & to this day he still makes that same wage. It’s been tough ~~ but we are still here & we’re fine!! You will be too!! Hugs!!
