sealed-with-a-kiss.jpg  Happy Saturday, Ya’ll….

Today’s submission is a dual challenge for me.   I was inspired by the Inspiration Challenge photo of Snow White.  I love the brilliant colors.   I also challenged myself to make a card without scallops or my precious cuttlebug!  No punches, either!

This came out so far from where I started.  I originally wanted to do Snow White’s Rose, but the colors would not allow it, so I went with something really fun, instead :).   I adore this seal image from Hambo.   He’s got lovestruck in his eyes.  So, I made up my own sentiment “sealed with a kiss”.

It’s going to be a busy weekend in the studio…. have some deadlines looming.  I can’t wait to show you!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Seal and seal stand by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com); XO are karen foster snap stamps; sentiment is handwritten

Colors: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Yo Yo Yellow, GP White

Ink: Real Red, Yo Yo Yellow, Brilliance Graphite Black

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scissors

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

americana-trio.jpg  Happy Friday, everyone :)

Today’s Limited Supply Challenge was to make a trio of cards, using the same stamps sets, sentiment set, colors, etc.. all with different layouts.   I really felt like doing some ‘americana’ colored/theme cards, so here you go.  I may have pushed the limits of ‘limited’ a bit, but that was not mentioned in the challenge.  The funny part is, I made all three cards and don’t really love any of them.  I do love the colors.. just not thrilled with my outcome.

Probably because I’m not feeling up to par this morning.   For some reason that happens every so often when I eat shrimp or other seafood for dinner.  I wake up the next day with a rash and a headache.  Guess what?  We went to Red Lobster for dinner last night and I of course, ate SHRIMP.   I’m an idiot.  Should have known better.

Anywho, for better or worse, I’m posting these.  The one in the middle is going to be today’s sketch challenge….. here it is:

thsc15.JPG  This will be THSC15.   Nothing is set in stone here.. flip it, embellish it, whatever makes you happy.  Just be sure to link back here or use keyword THSC15 in your SCS upload so we can all view them :)

Here’s the deets on my cards:

Stamps:  Verve Visual Polka Stars and Starlight Starbright Remix (sentiments)

Colors: Real Red, Buckaroo Blue, Very Vanilla, MM DPs

Ink: Real Red, Buckaroo Blue

Accessories: HPH brads, ribbon slide and frame, ribbon, dimensionals, various scallop punches, slit punch, scissors.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

going-places.jpg  Good morning to ya!

Today’s Ways To Use It Challenge (WT168-get packing), got me.   I have packing tape, duct tape, all kinds of tapes, but do you think I could think of ONE thing to do this morning with my limited time?  Noooooooo.  So I went with safe and chose the travel theme instead.   Besides, my auntie and uncle are leaving on a trip to Amsterdam in a few weeks.   I thought a Bon Voyage card would be in order :).

The dress is paper pieced, then the entire image is cut and popped on dimensionals.   I use to have tons of travel themed papers.. we had a travel theme month when I was on the dirty dozen team.   Do you think I can find those puppies, now? LOL.. nope.

Well, it’s our anniversary today.  Twenty six (26) years.   And they said it wouldn’t last.. heehee.  We are not celebrating too much…. possibly a dinner out, but we’ve decided that a cruise for our 30th is what we really want, so we are in the planning stages!  I’m bucking for western caribbean, while DH would like to see Alaska.    Hopefully, we come to some agreement or we’ll be taking separate cruises! :)  Just kidding.

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Going Places by My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com)

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, DCWV DPs.

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics, white gel pen for accents.

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, circle punch, scallop punch, scissors.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

sc178-orange-passion-wish.jpg  Good morning, Ya’ll.

Today’s sketch challenge was the perfect chance for me to try out these colors.  I have been seeing alot of pink/orange combinations in advertising and really dig it!

I decided to use the tilted image to make a window for my card.  The image is stamped and colored with copics.  The background is cuttlebugged in non other than swiss dots.   I know, I really need to put that folder to rest! The window is on dimensionals, don’tcha know! :).  Shhhhh, don’t tell, but this is for a very special SCS birthday coming up!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: candle by Hambo Stamps; sentiment is handwritten

Colors: GP White, Pink Passion, Pretty in Pink, Only Orange

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, swiss dots folder, cuttlebug, square punch, slit punch.

anniversary-dear.jpg  Happy Tuesday, Ya’ll….

Today’s color challenge (Chocolate chip, very vanilla, sage shadow) could not have come at a more perfect time.   Our anniversary is in 2 days and I needed a card for dear hubby.

Since my DH is a hunter/fisherman, I decided to pull out my trusty Noble Deer set.   In fact, it was my DH who ordered this set!    I went with pretty simple on this as he’s a simple kinda guy.   I did put that big old bow on there, but I think he’s secure enough in his manhood to take that! LOL

Yup, they said it wouldn’t last, but on Thursday, we will be celebrating 26 years of marriage.   We met on January 11, 1980 at my front door.  He came to my house to find his girlfriend, my best friend.   The funny part is, I couldn’t stand him when I met him.  I thought he was cocky and arrogant (he still is!).   But, over time, I’ve grown to love his self-confidence and he puts up with me and all my quirkiness!  A match made in heaven, i do believe.

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Noble Deer (SU!); sentiment is handwritten

Colors: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Chocolate Chip, Copics

Accessories: Brads, ribbon, dimensionals, ticket corner punch, circle punches, designer label punch, stipple brush

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

sweet-box-and-card.jpg  Oh happy day!

Today’s Technique Lover’s Challenge was a fun one.   The challenge was to pick a former TLC, CC and SC and combine them into one project/card.   Here’s what I chose:

Technique Lover’s Challenge #103 ( 4 x 4’s or similar size cards in a set)

Sketch Challenge 83 - no set layout.. object was to use circles.

Color Challenge 52A (Gable Green, Ruby Red, Night of Navy, Only Orange!!)

I did have to make one substitution and use Green Galore instead of Gable Green as I have no Gable Green.

I decided since I was making the little cards (they are 3.5 x 3.5) that I would make one of my boxes to hold them.  This box measures 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches square.  I’ll be happy to post measurements, but it is basically my same box that i usually make, with measurement adjustments, of course!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Tart & Tangy and So Very (sweet) by Stampin’ Up!

Colors: Ruby Red, Night of Navy, Only Orange, Green Galore and Summer picnic DPs

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Only Orange, Green Galore

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop punch, circle punches, embossing folder, scissors, sticky tape

TFL!~  and have a blessed day!

remember-the-moments.jpg  Happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone…..

I was so pleased this morning when I looked at the challenge for Featured Stamper Peanutbee!  Denise is an awesome stamper with such a clean fresh style.   I just received a sweet RAK from Denise in Friday’s mail.  I haven’t even had a chance to thank her, yet!  So, my card is for Denise.    I thought it fitting on Memorial Day to make her a ‘Remember the moments’ card.   Besides, nothing is finer than being a Featured Stamper…. it’s akin to being Queen for a day!   Congrats, Denise!!  You can view her gorgeous gallery by clicking here.

It’s a glorious Sunday in Western New York.  The sun is shining and the birds are chirping and I’m going to go out and play in the sun!  Anyone want to come along!?

 Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Unpackaged  acrylics that are most likely Inkadinkadoo (they were given to me without a package, so if anyone knows who it is, please advise me.

Colors: GP White, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, MM DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, black fine tip marker for doodling

Accessories: MM brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop punches, slit punch, scissors

hambo-missing-you.jpg  Happy Saturday :)

I’m a hunting widow this morning.  DH awoke at 4am (I was already awake) and we had coffee together before he headed out.  It was so quiet in the house! :)  He asked if I was going back to bed, then added “Not likely if you get on that computer”.  I hate it when he’s right..lol.   I jumped online and caught the inspiration challenge.  You can view it here.

I was immediately drawn to the first photo.  The greens and creams and browns are so gorgeous and rich.   Since I chose to go with rich colors, I decided I was going to keep it simple and tidy.   The old olive layer is 1/2 embossed with Swiss Dots.  The flower and pot are cut out and popped on dimensionals.   I didn’t even want a bow, so I went with a little buckle for accent.  I added the handwritten sentiment as I’m sending this to my brother and his wife who have moved to Texas just a few months ago.  I really miss my bro!!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Flower pot set by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Old Olive, Very Vanilla

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, brown fine tip marker (for sentiment)

Accessories: walnut brads, velvet ribbon, HPH buckle, circle punches, swiss dots EF

farley.jpg Wow, can you believe it?  Two posts in one morning.  I didn’t think I would get any fun stamping stuff done today, but when I saw this morning’s Way to Use it Challenge (masculine cards), I knew I had to pull Farley out for a quick thank you.   There is a sweet man at my church who subs for my Bible Study class when I’m not able to be there and I owe him a big thank!

I’m also posting this as our sketch challenge this week as I am so unsure of what tomorrow is going to bring.  I have several appointments and don’t know when I’ll be home.  So…….

thsc14.JPG  As you can see this sketch (THSC14) is wide open for interpretation.  Flip it, embellish it, have fun with it!  Please link back here or use keyword THSC14 in your SCS upload so we can see what you’ve created!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Farley by Anna Wight (Whipper Snapper designs); starstruck by SU!

Colors: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bliss Blue, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, white gel pen, copics, black fine tip marker

Accessories: star brads, ribbon, dimensionals, circle punch, star punch, word window punch, scissors.

toy-nametag.jpg  I love a challenge, don’t ya know.. :)  Well, a couple months ago, Monica at Hambo Stamps sent the girls on the design team a couple of these clear plastic nametag holders and asked us to create something using it.. The timing was perfect, as I needed a nametag quick for our Western New York gathering.  Monica rocks.

Well, I get this e-mail the other day from Monica (addressed to all us girls) saying she was going to ‘deadline’ us so we’d get them posted :)  I guess Monica knows me better than I thought as I work most comfortably under a deadline.  So, Monica, this is for you :)  I made it! LOL

You can see all the other nametags by visiting the girls’ blogs here:

Isabelle Mung - Inkerbelle’s

Colleen Schaan - Distinctive Touches

Libby Hickson - Libby’s Little Addiction

Monica Hunter - Talk to the Ham

Here’s what I did… I put a mat of Jersey shore DP on Night of Navy cardstock, wrapped some ribbon around the corner, put some tiny brads in the corner (you can hardly see them as they match the paper just a little too well!) and did a little piercing along the bottom.  I stamped the image (Garden snail), colored it and cut out just the snail.  He’s attached to the outside with dimensionals, of course!  Then I punched holes in the top of the tag and loaded it up with matching ribbons.  I decided just to write my name on the tag as I don’t own any alphabet stamps of the right size.. isn’t that a shame!?  LOL :)  I’m told my writing is decent though ;)

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Garden Snail by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Night of Navy, Jersey Shore DP

Ink: Copics, Brilliance Graphite Black

Accessories: nametag holder, ribbon, dimensionals, brads, paper piercing tools, hole punch

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!
