~I’m Baaaaaack (Sorta)~

Well, my friends, it has been a long 8 weeks since I’ve posted and alot has happened.   We arrived in Colorado on the 1st of September.  The men (DH and my two oldest DSs) have been looking for work since day 1.   The two youngest DSs are enrolled in school and have already settled into their routine.

Upon arrival, we did alot of siteseeing in the area…… get aload of this beautiful ‘backyard’ scenery!

blog-photos-004.jpg  This is Sprague Lake in Estes Park…. which is about a 30 minute drive up the mountain from our house.

We also took in some of the local park scenery and had a little fun with the cool statues throughout the park.   Here’s a shot of my Zeke having a heart to heart with one:

blog-photos-003.jpg  Take note of the Dew bottle… they never leave Zeke’s side.. 🙂

DH got a call to do a 9 day job in Wyoming this past week.   It was very interesting, as he has never been away from the family for more than a couple days at a time in the 26+ yrs of our marriage.   He got home last night, safe and sound.   Here is a picture of the work they did:

hamilton-home-004.jpg  Nice work, eh?   He’s real proud of this!

Ok, so you want me to talk about stamping?!   🙂

I have not yet come up with a plan for where I am going to be stamping and dang I am going through withdrawals!   Just before the move, I was contacted by Jessica Knutsen of There She Goes to join her new design team and I am eager to work with her wonderful new line of stamps!

Oh, I have to back up a minute.   Our moving truck arrived here on the 3rd of September and delivered 90% of our boxes crushed!   We are fighting with the moving company about compensation.   My stamps do not seem any worse for wear and my paper appears to be fine, but I did lose alot of embellishments as the boxes literally ‘exploded’ out the sides.   Oy!  No real worries though as I still have plenty to work with.

We are living temporarily with two of my aunts and a cousin, so there are 9 of us in a 3 bedroom house.   The boys are sleeping bunkhouse style in their basement (finished) and having a few issues, but for the most part, all is good.   We have managed to pass a nasty flu bug around, but we are all on the mend as of this morning.

Soooooooo…….. when am I going to get to stamp?   I don’t quite know yet, but it must be soon.   With DH’s first paycheck, I am going to be setting up a small area in the room we are staying so I can at least do what I love.   Besides that, my cousin is getting married early next year and has commissioned me to do her wedding announcements.   Where there is a will, there is a way!

I want to thank everyone who has sent me messages about missing me and my postings.   I really miss all of you, too!  Oh, and Marisa… ski season is coming…. and the door is always open for you!

Keep your eyes peeled… I will be back to stamping soon!

 Peace and blessings!

I’m so thrilled to hear that your family made the move and you’re okay. I have been wondering about you, hoping you were okay! I guess it’s weird that a complete stranger can care about you?! Anyway, love the pics of Colorado. I hope you will soon be settling into your own place and getting your stamps out!

Thanks for the update and God bless!

WOW! Tell Don I am impressed!! Next time you come, I will hire him to make me a rail for the kitchen (you know where that dumb outdoor green rail is going down to the basement??).

Hope those boys can find work soon and that you can set up a place to stamp. I am sorry about the boxes!!!

    Miss ya, gf!

I am SO glad you are back, Holly!!!! On a whim, I thought I’d check in and see if you had posted or not (have been checking fairly regularly) as I have dearly missed your amazing creations and voila, there you were — yeah!!! Happy dance time 😀

Glad to hear the family made it safely, and I hope you can kick that moving company’s butt for the way they mishandled your stuff. I’m ready to send the owner a letter myself – sheesh!

Thanks for the pictures! Your DH and crew did a GREAT job – he should be proud of it!!! Maybe he can create a temporary stamping area where you are at right now so you have an opportunity to stamp and share your talent with us all, and of course, you need to ensure those wedding invitations are top class as it is family and all – LOL!. Can tell him we will even flood him with thank you cards if he does – grin 😀

Love the picture of Zeke and his “buddy” and glad to hear the younger two are settling into school. Trusting DH will get steady work soon so you can find a place of your own and fully settle in.

My heart skipped a beat with the skiing comment – thank you Holly!! My 25 years of skiing came to an abrupt stop for 4 years while I was having kids (either preggers or nursing during ski season) and then DH started his own business and $$ have been tight so I’m hoping that will change shortly and can’t think of a better way to celebrate than skiing Colorado and being able to meet you face to face — getting giddy just thinking about it….skiing by day….getting to stamp with “The Toy” by night….who could ask for anything more!! Better start that work out routine so I can actually make it off the hill without riggarmortis (sp?!! )setting in.

Blessings, Holly and can’t wait to see your creations once again. (((hugs)))

    Welcome, Holly!
Glad you made it here safely…and I hope that nothing really got damaged badly. Looking forward to your new creations when you get settled.
I could only say WOW to the timber frame house! It’s beautiful! (although I am sure it will be prettier when done, HA!)
If you need a space to stamp, give me a “holler”…you would be welcome in my workroom any day!
    Blessings to all of you
