If you’ve come to view the Thursday Tutorial, please bear with me… it will be posted later today.    We (my camera guy and I) had a little difficulty with our photos last night and I just could not, in good conscience post bad pics!   I have an old camera that is on it’s last leg.   I am begging my hubby for a new one, but he is not being apathetic to my plight.   Fear not, though.. the tute is written.   I just need to take a few more CLEAR pictures for you and I will get it posted.

But, since you are already here, why not stay for the pie? 🙂

Today’s Ways to Use It challenge was all about ‘altering’ designer paper.   Kinda cool, I think.   I rarely think to do anything but hoard my designer paper.   I love to just go through it sometimes and pet it.. heehee.   I have a ton of it though, so I got a chance to use a piece this morning.

I chose this piece of heart paper by Paper Studio.    I first embossed it with the cuttlebug heart EF, then I added stickles to the row of white hearts.    Again, with the *carpy* camera, I could not get a clear pic of the stickles, but it does sparkle 🙂

I was thinking of a very special friend from Splitcoasters when I made this card.   She loves giraffes and pink is her favorite color!    Soooooooooo… I made a pink giraffe!   He is first stamped on the label 1 die cut, then stamped again and cut out.. popped on top of that.. then I stamped his head a third time and cut it out, popping that on as the final (3rd) layer.

I used a copic marker to make the little pink dots in the background and added a red heart brad to balance him out.

Ya know… ever since we moved to Colorado, my DH has felt outta sorts.   We are living with my two aunts who remind us constantly that it is THEIR house.    He goes to work every day and comes home to a 12 x 12 room that he can call his own.    So, I decided to make him a card to remind him that he is STILL the king of our castle… even though we don’t have our own castle yet!
