Good day!

Well, I, or one, am laughing my butt off at myself this morning.   I had quite the adventure making today’s card.   You know, if things go smoothly, I am always wondering why.

I woke up late this morning and hit the ground running.   I had only 30 minutes between waking up and time to take the boys to school.   I was pleasantly suprised to see the Ways To Use It challenge posted early.    It gave me something to stew over while I drove.    The challenge is to use labels in your design.    I have a label maker.   The old black kind where you dial up the letter/number and squeeze.

Well, when I got back from shuttling the boys, I was on a hunt to find the darn thing.   I have unpacked about 75% of my craft supplies in the new studio, but I knew I hadn’t seen it, so I started on boxes and bins.   The cool part is, I found alot of things I can use!    I found my button supply (see card! LOL).    I found my extremely large stash of embroidery floss (see card! LOL).   But I was not finding that darn label maker!

Finally, about the time I was going to give up, I found a pack of 2″ x 4″ labels.   Oh, heck.   I didn’t have a clue what to do with those, but I sat back and thought about it for a few minutes and decided to give them a shot anyway.

So, I stamped this flower from Fifth Avenue Floral squarely in the middle of the cross-section of four of the label.    I colored it and then lifted the pieces and transferred them to the lovely lilac cardstock.   It made a window!  Cool.  Since I lost the middle of the flower, I decided to put a button there.   Works for me!

I also found this awesome Kay & Co. pack of designer papers.   The layer that appears to be designer paper is actually a printed vellum sheet.   I am sad that I covered it all up though, as it is so pretty!
