Good Afternoon!

This week’s There She Goes challenge is to create a gift card holder in honor of Father’s Day.   There’s a hitch.    The project had to include shadow stamping.

Well, as per usual, I did my first gift card holder and forgot the shadow stamping! Doh!   I’m going to share it with you anyway 🙂

This little box/bag was patterned after a box I found at the local dollar store.   I have created a template for it here:

(Note:  You will need to increase the size to 100% when printing)

I snagged one of the Home Depot credit brochures while I was picking up DH’s gift cards.   I cut the ensignia out and used it on my box.   The box was cut from heavy weight frosted acetate (I call it acetate on steroids!).

Here are the deets:

Stamps:  Sentiment from There She Goes’ Holidays Galore

Paper: Basic Gray, heavy weight acetate

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx

Accessories: ribbons, scoring blade, sticky tape, candy dots, dimensionals, xacto knife, shredded paper

Then I decided I had better make another gift card holder (as he is getting two cards!) and this one better be right..lol.

For this one, I cut the basic gray paper to 7 3/4 inches by 6 1/4 inches.    I scored the piece at 3/4 inches on both of the long sides and at 3 1/2 and 4 1/4 inches on the short side.   Your piece will look like this:

Cut on the dotted lines and fold into a box shape.

For the lid (only orange here), I cut a piece 4 3/4 inches by 4 inches and scored at 1/2 inch on the 4 3/4 inch side.   I then took that piece and rolled it slightly on the edge of my table to give it a little curve.

I affixed a piece of sticky tape to the  1/2 inch tab and attached it to the top back of my basic gray box.   Then I cut two 1/4″ strips of basic gray paper at 6″ each.    I attached the buckles to the ends and put small pieces of velcro on the back of them.   The other end is attached to the back with sticky tape.    I decorated it with photo corner punches and the sentiment circle (shadow stamping!).

Here are the deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes‘ Holidays Galore

Colors: Basic Gray, Only Orange, and GP White

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx ~ For the shadow stamping, I stamped once then moved my stamp down and to the right slightly and stamped again.

Accessories: candy dots, buckles, photo corner punch, circle punches, scoring blade, sticky tape, dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by!   I hope you have a blessed day!
