Good evening, girls!

It’s day #2 of the July Release for There She Goes!   If you arrived here from Faith’s blog, you’re in the right spot, otherwise, check back at Jessica’s blog for the beginning of the hop.

I’m going to get the niceties out of the way first, then I have a little rant.   The set we are sneak peeking tonight is called BLOOM.   You know, we always love a good floral set and this one is AWESOME!   The flowers are gorgeous and there are tons of sentiments.   It’s like getting two sets in one!

I was a little over-zealous when making this card.   I received my new Butterflies impressionabilities today and *had* to use it on the pink layer…. then I went and covered it up!  DOH!    I wish you could see it, it is gorgeous!    I will definitely be using it again 🙂

Ok now it’s time to move on to Jessie’s fabulous blog!    She is sure to have some great eye candy for you 🙂

If you have stuck around…. I need to rant a little.

We are in a recession, right?   People are out of work.   Homes are being lost to foreclosure.   Gas prices are on the rise again.   So, today in the mail I receive a letter from the Weed Control Board.   Ok, seriously, we have a weed control board?!   Who’s brother-in-law needed a job?!   The letter stated that the weeds in our yard (in the backyard more precisely) are above the limit of 6″.   If we do not knock them down by the date on the letter, we will be fined $1000 per day that we are out of compliance.   So, you’re telling me that weeds at 6″ are ok, but weeds that are 8″ are not?!  WTH!?   Seriously, the weeds in our backyard are in the waaaaaaaay back down a little hill that cannot even be seen from the house.   My son told me that the extention cord he uses for the weed whacker will not reach that far, so he hasn’t knocked them down.   Fair enough, we get a longer extention cord.   In the meantime, I have this silly waste of time letter staring at me.   I am so writing my mayor.   Or maybe the local newspaper could have fun with this.

Thanks for stopping by!!   I really hope you have a blessed day 🙂

This is just so pretty, Holly! I can not count how many times I have HAD to use something on a card, and then I end up covering up most of it…LOL! Happens to the best of us! 🙂 Your flowers are just so beautiful, and I LOVE the white ribbon!

So sorry about your weed problem….kind of crazy if you ask me!

Loving all that texture in your card Holly! It’s gorgeous! But seriously?!? A weed control board?! Haven’t they got better things to do with their time then to go around measuring weeds?? What is this world coming to?

Love your card! I hope the “weeder” finds something better to do! You should go pick some and do something crafty with them for him/her – tell them you were growing them long specifically for this project (ha! ha!)

    Wow, very pretty.
So much detail, I love it.
    Colors look amazing.
Thanks for the extra angle, I noticed the pearl accent.

Fabulous card! I think your local paper would definitely enjoy this. Or your local TV station. They sometimes have the reporter who does segments about harassment of people by local officials or bad business practices. That kind of thing. You might be famous in no time!

Your card is gorgeous! Such pretty colors.

Gosh I wish we had “weed control” around here. Some of our neighbors yards look like garbage dumps. But I can understand your frustration as that does seem a bit silly.

  22. on 27 Jun 2009 at 13:51Lou

Fab card and love all the layering you have done. I had to read your rant twice because I couldn’t believe that you had received a letter about your weeds ! Say what? I hope they don’t bring anything like this to the UK because we would probably end up as a country of concrete gardens!
