~ A Cleansing ~
October 9th, 2009 by Holly McMillen
Good evening, Friends
You’re not going crazy, I AM making a second post today. I felt the need to cleanse my spirit. I hurt someone’s feelings today. I didn’t mean to, but as I do every now and again, I put my foot in my mouth.
My mother constantly reminded us that once a statement is made, it cannot be taken back. It’s out there. It is important to THINK before you speak. Sometimes my mouth gets overzealous and engages before my brain has the chance to catch up. It’s a fault I work on constantly, but unfortunate incidents happen. Fortuantely, most people are forgiving.
On the upside, I may have made a new friend. I extended the hand of friendship…. just waiting to see if she accepts it. I hope she does, as we can never have too many friends…. especially those who accept you warts and all.
Good news!!! I was surfing over on the Hambo blog yesterday and came across a contest to win a digi-image of a new drawing by Tim. It’s a toy soldier! I have been looking for a good toy soldier image for sometimes and it just so happens I adore Tim’s drawings. Well, I was the winner! I will be using it very shortly and showing it off, but in the meantime, I made this thank you card for Monica that I wanted to share.
As I made this card, it occurred to me that these images are perfect for our men in uniform. If you like sending cards to the troops, you can get these cute stamps from Hambo Stamps HERE.
Here are my deets:
Stamps: Hambo Stamps tank and sentiment
Colors: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla, Really Rust, Abbey Road dps
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics
Accessories: ribbon, brads, pinked nesties, MS border punch, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by! And remember…. a word said in haste, will come back to bite you in the end
~~ Holly~~

I can so relate to your experience, Holly! Thanks for sharing it with us. Your mom was very true in her statement. Read a story once about a feather pillow that was broken and the feathers flew everywhere. Person related it to saying something to someone — you can never collect all the feathers as they keep going (via others repeating things etc.).
I have a few too many opinions rolling around in my head at any point in time and they like to jump out and raise havoc at times, especially when I’m tired, grumpy or very upset about something. I’ve gotten into trouble many a time and like you, am thankful for friends who take you as you are, know when to call you on it, and/or forgive you for what you’ve said. That’s why Phil 1:6 is one of my favorite verses — I’m a work in progress.
Blessings to you and have a great weekend.
Holly, congrats on your digital image!
it is very hard to apologize, but you are quite admiral in my book, for that is hard.
hopefully they will accept the friendship extension.
God Bless you.
