~ Witches Brew ~

Happy Wednesday, friends 🙂
What a rough night! My DH called me from Snowmass last evening to let me know he wasn’t feeling well.  He sounded awful.  Then I was watching a news report on the H1N1 virus.  So, as per usual, I spent the night worrying about him and the kids getting the flu.  They have no health insurance.  Just one trip to the hospital could wipe us out.  I hate when my head goes there, but it’s a real threat these days, kwim?
Needless to say, I couldn’t sleep much.  I was up at 4:45am.  What does a crafter do at that hour? STAMP!  I hopped on SCS and found the sketch challenge.
I like sketches like these. Â The little panels give you the opportunity to use those little stamps.
Here are my deets:
Stamps:Â There She Goes‘ HSH Halloween Additions
Colors: Basic Black, Green Galore, GP White, paper studio dp
Ink: Versfine Black Onyx, copics, Tim Holtz’ teabag distressing ink
Accessories: ribbon, drippy goo punch, crystal effects, word window punch, scissors, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by. Â I think I am going to try to go back to sleep for awhile. Â I hope you have a blessed day!

What a cool and wonderful Halloween card, Holly!! Love how you decorated each square mats! Awesome sketch to play, too!
Great sketch card, Holly. Wonderful use of the shelves in each square 😀
As for N1H1, my daughter had it this summer and it is basically a bad flu: Body aches, chills, headache, fever, sometimes throwing up or the runs (she didn’t get that at all). From all I read on line and speaking to friends whose kids had had it, you basically treat it as a flu. If symptoms get really bad then you can go to the doctor (i.e. a high fever that won’t drop or goes on for over four days etc.). Ones most likely to get it are those with immune issues and younger kids. Apparently those born before 1958 don’t get it much as they have been exposed to a similar bug.
Another important thing is to quarantine yourself so you don’t spread it. My daughter was sick for about a week and was getting better after day 4 and then was pretty weak for a week after wards as she hadn’t eaten much for the week she was sick. We stayed home for about 12 days.
Goggle N1H1 or Swine Flu and you’ll find some useful information. Think it has been made out to be more than it really is…unless of course you are in the high risk groups. Hope that helps 😀
This card is just sooo fun, Holly!! What a great way to use this sketch…love the punch at the bottom too!!
I will pray for your DH and your family…I hope he feels better soon!! HUGS!!
