Hello, Friends

Yesterday I took my aunt Marci to a doctor appointment.   She had Chemotherapy on Monday and was feeling quite good for a couple days, but woke up yesterday with quite a bit of pain.   At her appointment, they took her temperature and when the thermometer read 100.6 (a critical temp for chemo patients), they immediately sent us to the hospital.

While they did their magic on her in the ER, we spoke to quite a few nurses, technicians and doctors.   There was a common thread.   The young nurse had just lost her grandma to pancreatic cancer.  The tech who put her pick line in had Crohn’s disease.  The doctor also had a relative with cancer.   All of them were in need of prayers.   It struck me that no matter who you are and where you come from, something traumatic has or will touch your life.   It is my belief that prayer is the answer.

I talked with Marci a few minutes ago and she is feeling better after a night of rising and falling temperatures.   We are not sure if she will get to come home today, so I decided to make a card for her this morning.

The cross was simply designed taking two 3/4″ pieces of cardstock and cutting them to size.  Then I drew a line down the center and created the bevel.   The cross is adorned with an array of tiny primas with 1/2 pearls.

It was my intent to keep the design very simple.   Personally, I think when there is a cross involved, the cross should be the stand out and nothing else.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  Our Craft Lounge’s In His Name (sentiment)

Colors: Very Vanilla, GP White

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics

Accessories: 1/2 pearls, ruler, primas, nesties, brads, embossing folder, dimensionals, jute

Join me now in a prayer…. for Marci and all those struggling with health issues.    May God Bless them all.

Hugs,

Holly

What a beautiful card. I just added your Aunt Marci to our church’s prayer network, so she will have lots of folks praying for her. I too, believe prayer is the answer. My hubby is undergoing chemo treatments also. He had his second treatment Wednesday morning. So far he is doing very well with it. Just a note….my hubby was experiencing the usual metal taste in his mouth from the chemo…he is also diabetic so the hard candy and mints just made is sugar count spike. We had some listerine breath strips….he tried them, and viola, the metal taste disappeared and has not returned. So if Aunt Marci is experiencing that metal taste, get her some of those breath strips. I will keep Aunt Marci in my prayers along with my prayers for my hubby. Thanks so much for praying for all others struggling with health issues. May God also Bless you, as you are obviously a very dear, caring, loving person.

    Hugs,
    Sue

You and your Aunt are in my thoughts & prayers Holly. This is such an elegant card! The cross looks amazing and I love all the flowers on it. The embossed & sponged matt adds so much – I am sure this card with brighten her day (I bet she frames it!)

mY DEAR friend had that metal taste, and switched to PLASTIC forks, spoons and that helped. Even when we went out to eat she took her own plastic utensils……

You are so right Holly. Where ever we go there are people in need of prayer, a smile, some encouragement, and the hope offered on the cross for all mankind. This is a gorgeous card. I want to make a cross. I will pray for your Aunt and the others you mentioned. Prayer changes lives unlike anything else we can do! Our Abba is faithful. Have a blessed weekend.
