~ Freedom Quilt ~

Good afternoon, Friends!

There’s a phenomenon going on lately.   I get up late, as the kids are on Spring Break.   I have been lounging around until the mid-morning and then getting to my list of things to do.   I’ve been staying up late, too!    I’ve never been a late night person.   The running joke in my family is whether I’ll make it through dinner before I fall asleep, but now I’m up past midnight just about every night!

I spent the last three hours in my studio going through stamp sets that I want to rid myself of.    I have a pile about 3ft x 3ft x 3ft high!   Now I need to make sure all the stamps are there and they’re clean.   Then I’m going to list them here on my blog for first dibs!   Most of them are older SU! sets, just in case you’re wondering.

Ok, so today’s Free 4 All challenge on SCS was to do a quilt.   I love doing this.    I even used it as a challenge back a few months ago.   I pulled out my favorite Our Craft Lounge set, Let Freedom Ring.

I started with a 5 x 5 inch square, the second level is 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and the final level is 2″ square.   Digging around for a star embellishment, I found these cool wooden star buttons.     The ribbon was sponged with Tim Holtz tea bag distressing ink.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  Our Craft Lounge’s Let Freedom Ring

Colors: Riding Hood Red, Buckaroo Blue, Very Vanilla, dps

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Tim Holtz’s tea bag distressing ink

Accessories: Ribbon, wooden star buttons, embroidery floss, jute, dimensionals, sticky tape

Thanks so much for stopping by!   I hope you have a blessed day!

Hugs,

Oooh, love what you’ve done with the sentiment panel on this card, Holly. Great colours and focal point!

Had to smile at your new hours LOL! I do the exact same thing in the summer and over Spring Break and Christmas. With the kids being older and going to bed later, the only “quite time” in the house is in the evenings because I don’t do mornings well LOL! I would go to be at midnight to 1:00 a.m. and rise around 9:00 a.m. Great until school starts and one has to get up before 7:00 a.m. and your body is still used to going to bed late. Glad your time has been productive – can’t wait to see what you are clearing out 😀
