~ Shells in Your Pocket ~

A few weeks back, Melanie Muenchinger (Hands, Head and Heart) ~ also known as MelMel on SCS, wrote me a note and asked if I would like to do some samples with her new Gifts From The Sea set being released right now by Gina K Designs.  I cannot tell you how honored I am to work with Mel’s designs.

 

When the stamps arrived in the mail, I knew immediately what I wanted to do.   I wanted rich, lush colors and I wanted a bit of nautical, too.

The papers I used come from the Kay and Co Blue Awning Kit from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.   I stitched the first two layers together and scuffed them with Tim Holtz Antique Photo distressing Ink.   I did that to each layer, thereafter.  The largest clam shell is stamped in Tim Holtz tea bag ink under the sentiment.   The pearls on the circle are to simulate a ship’s wheel.

Colors: Night Of Navy, Creamy Caramel, GP White, Kay and Co. Blue Awning designer papers

 

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Copics, Tim Holtz tea bag distressing Ink, Tim Holtz antique photo distressing Ink

 

Accessories: Navy grosgrain ribbon, 1/2 pearls – Kaisercraft, Jute,  Circle Nestabilities, Scalloped circle Nestabilities, dimensionals

    Saw this on SCS and just loved it and am loving it all over again here! You have done a FABULOUS job on this card, Holly!!! Love the colours, pearls, twine, layout – all of it. You showcased her stamps to the max!!!

    WOW Holly – this is GORGEOUS! It just might be the prettiest card I have seen made with Mel’s new set. It looks like you used denim on one of the card panels. Hope your Aunt is doing better and that we all get to see you at the TSG Release party tonight!
