Hello Friends!

Welcome to the second day of the There She Goes sneak peeks.   If you’ve arrived here from Heather’s blog, then you are definitely in the right spot.   If not, I suggest you start back on the There She Goes blog, so you can get the details and instructions on how to win your own set!

I’m going to blow myself in on today’s sample.   Each time we do these peeks, Jessica sends us those cute graphics you see at the top of the post.   It gives a little snippet of what the girls have done with the set.   Well, I took the big beach stamp that comes in this set and had this crazy idea that what is suppose to be the pier, was a tree!   I didn’t realize it was a pier until I saw the other girl’s samples.   Now I feel like a putz.   However, I do like my card, so maybe I just created a different use for that stamp! LOL

~~~ Starry, Starry Night ~~~
 tsg-starry-starry-night.jpg
Lately, I have been obsessed with scenes of beaches at night.   Back in 1981, when my husband (then boyfriend) was still in the Navy, his ship was cominig in at Coronado Island (San Diego).   The night before the ship arrived, a bunch of us (girlfriends and wives of the guys on ship), gathered for a night of fun and mayhem.    I remember walking out of our hotel room, right onto the beach and listening to the chugboat horns as they guided the USS Kittyhawk into harbor.    It was so peaceful.
Anyway, I created a nightime beach scene.   My image was stamped in versamark and embossed in white.   Then I used watercolor pencils on the beach and water.   I added some stars and a moon and then framed the image.   I used a ribbon slide punch on the frame and wove jute through it in different directions.
Here are my deets:
Stamps:  There She Goes’ By The Sea
Colors: Night of Navy, Creamy Caramel, GP White
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Versamark, Tim Holtz’ distressing inks
Accessories: Jute, ribbon slide punch, sponge, sharpie, ruler, dimensionals, white gel pen, MS branch punch
Now you can hop on over to Jessica’s blog to see how these stamps are really suppose to look! LOL   Thanks for stopping by!  Blessings!
    Just love the jute you strung through at the top of the card! What a wonderful story to go with your card too 😀 I say it takes a good eye to be able to see other uses for an image so you go girl on the pier tree 😀 Wonderfully done!
    This is AWESOME Holly! (and don’t feel bad about the pier/tree – it can be whatever you wish, an imagination is a GOOD thing – I messed up lyrics from songs in the 80s all the time, of course, now I have discovered I have otosclerosis…). I love the frame and the weaving of that twine too, and the punches brunches look terrific.
    What a gorgeous night scene…and I think it’s great that you’ve now shared another use for the pier image – think of yourself as a true innovator! (trust me, if we didn’t see the design teams inspirational work, I’m sure there would have been other “inventions” out there!)
