Happy Saturday, Friends 🙂

Before I move on to happy, stampy stuff, I really need to get on my soapbox for a moment.   I will warn that if you are a guy (not many guys read this), you may wish to skip this part….then again, if you’re married, you might want to continue.

Yesterday I had my mammogram done.   Ok, I’m going to admit that I am suppose to have them done annually because of my family history with breast cancer, but I have not had one done in nearly four years.   Now I remember why.   I did a little research.   The process of mammography was first used in 1913.   It did not become commonplace until the 1950’s.   What blows my mind is that in those 50 years since we started this mid-evil torture of women, we’ve (society) managed to improve just about everything from cars to computers to space travel………. YET, they still use the archaic mammogram machines that they used back in the 50’s!   Yeah, I’m all for “Save the Ta-Tas”, but come on.   It’s no wonder I skip several years of tests!   Ok, going off my soapbox now.

So, Sharon at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store has challenged us to make a predominately white card, today.   I have done several of these lately.   There is just something so striking about white on white.

I used the new Wordsworth set, Poetry of the Earth.   I am so in love with the sentiments in this set!   I also layered up a bunch of nestabilities to give it depth.

Came over from Sharon’s blog to see what you had created-your white card is beautiful and I like the sentiment.

Even though it is not a pleasant experience or one we would want even once a month, please keep getting your Annual checkups. They caught my cancer early through a mammo (intraductal) did a lumpectomy, and I have been free since 1998! Praise God.

Love the sentiment and how you over-stamped it on the trees!
    Elegant!

Just gorgeous Holly! Your layers of pure white, along with that satin, are absolutely lush!

This day gets even funnier! I didn’t know to use white or ivory ribbon I just did! and then you and I had the same idea to stamp the trees behind a sentiment . . . . I swear I never looked at a thing, I was just stamping!

LOVE the layering of cut outs, perfect placement of pearls, and the satin ribbon, WOW! Great card!!!

LOVE it Holly! The white on white is fabulous and the sentiment is awesome! Great card.

As for the ta ta’s, better to have them squished than removed LOL! Yes, it is archaic (sp?) but in the course of a life, a few minutes of squish a year are worth saving your life, and like child birth, can be quickly forgotten — said in my best mommy voice 😀

Awe….this is so beautiful……I love it…will have to case this for sure…..
and for your comment on the Ta ta’s……I totally agree……we drive cars that can park themselves….but have to endured the torture machine……there should already be a machine that can detect spot with a wave of a wand……

Your white on white certainly is striking, and what beautiful words to use with the tree image. As for the ta ta’s — surely we have some brilliant women in technology who could work on this issue? Where are they? Don’t they have mammograms? Speaking of… I’m due…

    Holly,

This card is jaw-dropping impressive. I love it! I hope it’s on the shelf when I visit…I’ll probably steal it 🙂

I completely understand about the mammogram. I found my lump…I have had to endure a mammogram every 6 months for the past 2 1/2 years. I am coming up on my 3rd year in October – I freak everytime I go…so far everything is good. I have my last 6 month check up and then I can go every year after that. I agree, someone needs to come up with a better idea because it’s even worse after a lumpectomy. We women need to stand up and demand better from the medical community!! Okay off my (your) soap box.

    Have a great one.
