Hi Friends,

Don’t you just love when you envision something to make and you plan it all in your head, then when you actually sit down to make it… it comes out just as planned?!   I tell ya, that rarely happens for me, but it sure did for today’s project!

I am hosting the Our Craft Lounge blog this week and my theme is Star Spangled Party.  I had to do just a bit of thinking outside the box, as I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’ve ever sent or given a “4th of July” card.   Now, I DO have several adopted sons (friends of my boys) who are in the military overseas, so I do think it would be appropriate to send to them.   Unfortunately, I uhhhhhhhhh, forgot.  Dang it!  My bad.

We are having a little get together both Saturday and Sunday for the holiday, so I thought a table centerpiece would be nice!   Here’s what I came up with….

I found the star pattern HERE.    When I saved it to my computer, I opened it in a word document and resized it to fit my needs.   I printed two on Night of Navy in a slightly larger size.   I printed four on white and two on red in a smaller size.   I cut apart the red ones and paper pieced them onto the white to give it the striped look.

The base is simply a 3 1/2″ x 2″ x 2″ box.   I put some sand in a baggie to weight the bottom.  On top of that, I have a piece of floral foam covered in Night of Navy cardstock to hold the star wands in place.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  Our Craft Lounge Let Freedom Ring (bunting), Patriotic Parade (sentiment)

Colors: GP White, Night of Navy, Real Red

Ink: Night of Navy, Versafine Black Onyx, copics

Accessories: Red, white and blue ribbons, star punch, glitter foam star stickers, brads, candy maker’s sticks, sand, baggie, hole punch, floral foam, star confetti, circle punch, scalloped circle punch, scoring blade, sticky tape

Thanks for stopping by!   Be sure to stop by the Our Craft Lounge blog to see what I’m sharing this week!

Hugs,

Holly

Love what you’ve done here, Holly! What a fabulous center piece! We get to celebrate our 14th anniversary on Canada Day (July 1st) and always enjoy seeing the fireworks in Blaine, WA from up on the hill across the line here in Canada 😀

Holly, I love this and when I first saw it, I knew I had to make something like it for our church library window display for July 4th. Thanks so much for posting it, for the link to the template and the explanation of how you put it together. Happy 4th of July!

Holly, thanks so much for playing along with us at P3! Your table decoration reminds me of an old fashioned front porch all decked out for patriotic holiday. Super design! Thanks so much for the star link, too!!
