~ A Proud Moment ~
July 7th, 2010 by Holly McMillen
Good morning, friends!
Back in December, I posted a project (~ pretty packaging ~) that was a drawer box with monogrammed cards. I had such a wonderful response to that project both here on my blog and on Splitcoaststampers.com. A couple months back, Beate contacted me to do a tutorial for Splitcoaststamper.com. I am very excited that this is posted as today’s tutorial! You can find it HERE.
I wanted to share it again on my blog today and fill in some of the details.
The box was made with heavy cardstock (SU). If you make them with chipboard (or the backing from designer paper packs ~ 12 x 12 kind), you will get a much sturdier box that can also be stacked for use as storage. When using the chipboard, however, it’s recommended that you add 1/16″ to your measurements, though the scoring would remain the same. This just accommodates the added thickness.
Here are my decoration details:
Stamps: JustRite Monogram stampers
Colors: Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Kay and Co. Blue Awning designer paper from Sharon Johnson’s Stamp Simply Ribbon store.
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: 7/8″ crochet lace (ivory) and 1/8″ silk ribbon (sapphire) , oval punch, scalloped oval punch, dark blue rhinestones, embossing strip, border punch, dimensionals.

Thanks so much for all the *love* on my box. I hope to make it a regular thing ;).
Hugs,
Holly
