~ Wrap it up ~

Good morning, Friends!

Well we are going full steam ahead in the Dare to Get Dirty challenges!   Today is my challenge.   Because the challenges are for Fan Club members, we’re not allowed to give details on the challenges, but I can certainly show you what I’ve made!

My first project to share I actually made last Thursday while my friend, Theresa, was visiting.   It is an accordian type box with mini cards and a nugget box to match.

The accordian box is a simple box.   Starting with a piece of cardstock measuring 11″ x 6 1/4″,  score along the 11″ side at 3 1/4″, 4 1/4″, 7 1/2″ and 8 1/2″.   Using this diagram, cut out the parts indicated.   Score the leftover side tabs at 1/4″ intervals from the inside until you have 1/2″ left.   You will apply sticky tape to those 1/2″ tabs and accordian fold the sides.   I used a nestie to cut the flap top.

The nugget box is a simple box with a sleeve top.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes

Colors: Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, Parisian Breeze dps

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx

Accessories: 1/2″ wrinkled ribbon (brown), 1/8″ silk ribbon (gold) , 1/2 pearls, butterfly punch, nesties, circle punch, oval punch, scalloped oval punch, buttons, dimensionals, scoring blade, sticky tape, brads.

My second project is a knock off designer bag mini with cards, too!   I used the basic instructions from the Splitcoaststampers resource section (Box in A Bag).   I made some basic alterations.   First, I cut the bottom in more of a rectangle shape.  Then I cut my designer paper down so that it was more squat.   After I assembled the basic form, I used a large circle punch and punched out where the handle would go and also about a 1/4″ circle on each side of the handle placement to give the box it’s shape.

I did a lot of faux stitching on the straps, trim, handle and bottom.   The strawberries where created with a small oval punch, some sponging and hand cut leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by!   I’ll be back tomorrow with more to share!

Hugs,
