~My Christmas Heart~

Happy Friday, friends!

I told myself I was not going to stamp today.   I have a pretty hairy list of other things I need to do.  Today is my #3 son’s 18th birthday.    Happy Birthday, Noah!   But, I stamped.   Actually I did a heck more crafting than stamping, but it’s all good because I’m happy with what I made.

Here is My Christmas Heart:

This was a fun project and relatively simple.   I cut two hearts (large heart nestabilities) from the Graphic 45 Christmas Past designer paper.  I also cut another heart from Riding Hood Red card stock.   I sliced off a piece of the Riding Hood Red heart and used the scalloped eyelet border punch.   Then I cuttlebugged that piece with the Holly Ribbons embossing folder and adhered it (only in the middle) to the front heart.   Holding both front and back heart together, I sewed them together leaving the top open.   There is enough room inside to put candies or even a gift card.

Next, I had to create holly leaves, so I drew a template on white cardstock and then traced onto the Old Olive.  I did a bunch of shading and drawing on the leaves and then I scored them down the middle and about 1/8″ to either side of the middle so I could create a raised vein in the middle of each leaf.   They were then attached to a 1″ circle at various placed front and back to give it dimension.   The holly berries are 1/2″ circle punches that are covered in glossy glaze, sprinkled with a tiny bit of fine glitter and then gold 1/2 pearls added.

Here is a close up:

The glossy glaze is still a bit tacky and will turn clear when it’s completely dry, but I was impatient! 🙂

Here are my deets:

Stamps: JustRite Stampers’ Christmas Nested Sentiments from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store

Colors: Riding Hood Red, GP Whtie, Old Olive, Graphic 45 Christmas Past designer Paper
