~ You’re A Splitting Image… ~
October 3rd, 2010 by Holly McMillen
Hello, friends!
I trust all my crafty friends had a good weekend? Did you get to partake in the World Card Making Day events? I did get a bit of crafting done, but only made two cards all weekend. I will be playing catch up this week!!
This week’s Technique Lovers Challenge is not only an easy challenge, but one where you get to interpret it any way you like. I’m calling it You’re A Splitting Image. The idea is to cut up your image in some way. You can turn it into a puzzle, a mosaic, use only part of it…. whatever you like.
I chose this gorgeous ornate vintage swirl from Our Craft Lounge’s Vintage Swirls set. It is a long border type stamp, so I cut it in three pieces and there you go!
The images are stamped in chocolate chip ink and then distressed with Tim Holtz’ tea bag and antique photo distressing inks.
Here are my deets:
Stamps: Our Craft Lounge’s Vintage Swirls and Our Craft Lounge’s Art of Nature (sentiment)
Colors: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tim Holtz tea bag and antique photo distressing inks
Accessories: 7/8″ chocolate grosgrain, gold 1/2 pearls, tiny primas, distressing tool, dimensionals, sticky tape, sponge, embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll pop over to the challenge forums on Splitcoaststampers.com and join the fun!
Hugs,
Holly

This is gorgeous, Holly!! Love the EF and the flourish you used and the sponging is fabulous! Great card 🙂
Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful Holly, I love the sentiment . . . I definitely need to live by those words . . . sometimes I just chatter too much . . . LOL!
