Hello, friends.

Have you ever met someone just once, yet they leave an impression on you so great that you never forget them?   Well, that is how it was with my Sister-In-Law’s family.   Years ago… the year after my mother passed away… my SIL Prina’s family invited us to join them for Christmas dinner.

Much like my own family, they are fiercely protective of each other.  The laughter and chatter also reminded me of my own family.   Prina’s mom was a dynamo in the kitchen, while her dad (Martin ~ same name as my brother, her husband!) struck me as a proud patriarch.   They treated us no differently than they did their own and I will never forget them.

Just recently, Martin was diagnosed with Hotchkins Lymphoma.   I am so tired of hearing the C word, aren’t you?  Good news is that apparently they have caught it in early stages.   The tough part is he is 78 years old, so he will definitely have a bit of a battle.   And good news is, we’re ready to pray.

So, today’s card is for Martin.

I’m pretty sure my cardmaking skills are being tested lately as nearly all of the cards I’ve needed have been for men!

Here’s a close up of some details:

I used StampTV’s sketch (STVSKSP20) as well as today’s color challenge on SCS.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ By The Sea

Colors: GP White, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizazz

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: dark reddish orange embroidery floss, MS border punch, star punches, hole punch, dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!   Please keep Martin in your prayers 🙂

Hugs!

I’m sure he will love the card, Holly. My mom had Hodgkins and has been in remission for 30 years. They removed the lymph node they found it in, her spleen as it filters everything and then she went through a month of radiation and that was the end of it all. It has a very high cure rate so chin up! (((hugs)))

The big “C” has been pestering my family and friends too. Thank goodness for faith in God…in ALL things!

I love this card, and had not yet checked out the new TSG stamps. That sentiment is a must have!!!
