Hi Friends!

I have a couple of things to share with you today.   I’ll get to those in a minute, but first, I just wanted to say how much I am loving my family right now.   Over the last week, we’ve had most (if not all) of the boys here for dinner each night.   Since the oldest two hit their 20s, that’s a rarity!   I love sitting around the table with all my boys and listening to them goof around with each other.   I always knew they would be close when they grew up, but to actually see their strength of character reflect off each other is a mother’s dream come true.

Ok, enough of that :).   A couple of weeks ago, the weather here was amazingly nice.   We took the opportunity to spruce up our front porch.   A fresh coat of white paint on the railings was first.   Since we had left over paint, we used it to paint an old rocking chair and a bench that were left here when we moved in.   Here’s what we did:

and here’s the rocker:

The flowers have grown quite a bit since this was taken.   My oldest son feeds them miracle grow on a weekly basis.

Ok, now for this week’s Technique Lover’s Challenge!   A while back, I saw a card on SCS that my friend Deb Felts had done and I inquired as to the origin of the technique.   She referred me to Laura Lipe’s blog, Smiles, Laura. I just love the uniqueness of this card and it’s so easy to do!   Much thanks to Laura for allowing me to showcase her design for our challenge.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ Blossom by Blossom

Colors: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, GP White

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: 1/2″ yellow sheer polka dot ribbon, Label 1 nesties, 1/2 pearls, swiss dots embossing folder, sticky tape, dimensionals, MS branch punch

And here’s a close up!

Thanks so much for stopping by!   If you get a chance, pop on over to the challenge forums on SCS and join us for this “Twisted” challenge!

Hugs!

There is nothing better than family 🙂 SO glad you had a fabulous time with your boys and simply just watching them interact – happy sigh…

LOVE your rocking chair and flower boxes too. Your porch looks fabulous in its new coat of white and the touches of spring colours is great. What a great place to sit and enjoy some time of quiet or togetherness.

Fabulous lattice on your card and what a fun fold too. Have a fabulous week 🙂
