Hi Ya’ll :)

We’re back in the HOT weather again today, so I got up early and did my chores so I could hit the studio before the sun bakes the room.

Today’s Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers is Taylor Usry!!  I love Taylor’s easy going style.   It was hard to pick just one card, but I settled on THIS card as my muse.

Here’s what I came up with:

I changed images, color, shape (A2 instead of square) and I added the border at the bottom.

Here are my deets:

Stamps: There She Goes’ Once Upon A Time (illustrated by Di  Carubia)

Colors: GP White, Basic Gray, Old MME dps

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics

Accessories: white primas colored with pink copics, green prima, Queen & Co. polka dot flower brads, felt leaves, dimensionals, sticky tape

Ok, how about a little blast from the past?   Years ago, before I was introduced to stamping, I made cards using just about anything I could get my hands on.  And you can believe they were just as intricate then as they are today…LOL

Today while I was going through a box looking for embellishments, I came across this card that I had made back in 2002.   It’s my mardi gras girl!

I had made a face pattern from an old costume jewelery pin and I traced that several times onto vanilla cardstock.  Everything was hand done.  The background, her mask (I used the double sided sticky paper and carved out the eyes with an xacto knife.   Her hair is doll hair.   I used feathers in her head piece and I beaded her necklace.

I actually gave this to a friend for her birthday, but I snagged it from her one day to take a photo and somehow I never got it back to her :(.

I had also made a vegas showgirl using the same patterned face.   She had a beaded head dress and big pink feathers coming out of it.   She also had a pink boa around her.   I sold that to a friend who still has that framed and hanging in her bedroom!

Ok, enough from me.  Time to get out into the sunshine!

Have a wonderful day!!
