~ Father’s Day ~
June 17th, 2011 by Holly McMillen
Hello, Friends!
We’re in for an absolutely GORGEOUS day here in North Central Colorado. Last evening we had a little thunderstorm that dropped just enough rain to water my yard and gardens. Thank you, God! Today is bright and not too warm, with a high of 75 degrees. I consider that PERFECT weather.
Today’s Free 4 All Challenge gave me a bit of a fit. The challenge is to CASE a stamping BFF. The problem I have with that is that I consider so many of my stamping friends to be my stamping BFFs! It doesn’t quite seem fair to have to pick just one.
After much agonizing, I chose this card by Jerri Kay:

I chose it for several reasons. First, I adore Jerri. Secondly, I love the card. And finally, because I desperately need the Father’s Day card!
Here’s what I came up with:
My husband is a big outdoorsman. His favorite things are hunting and fishing. His ideal vacation would be hunting on horseback!
Here are my deets:
Stamps: Wordsworth Poetry of the Earth, JustRite Happy Everything Tag Kit (both from Stamp Simply Store)
Colors: Sage Shadow, Kraft, GP White, Cosmo Cricket’s Wanted dp from Stamp Simply Store
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Tim Holtz distressing inks, Sage Shadow
Accessories: Jute, mini star punch, label 13 nestabilities, sponges, Fancy tag dies, 1/2 pearls (teal), MS branch punch, Tim Holtz embossing folder, sewing machine (faux stitching)
Here is a closeup of some detail:
I’m thinking he just might like it 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Hugs!
Great choice, Holly 🙂 Jerri Kay does amazing work and you have done a great job on this card! The embossed panel reminds me of woodworking (perfect for your hubby’s line of work) and the greenery/foliage is very outdoorsy. I think your man will love it 🙂 Thanks for your wonderfully kind comment today too (((hugs))) and enjoy your fabulous weather! We are FINALLY getting regular sunshine and some warmer temps – aaaaahhhhh, summer is almost here : )
Breathtakingly beautiful, Holly…I can’t choose a favorite design element because there’s just so much eye candy here.
I’m happy to be joining you on the Rubbernecker DT too!
