~ Swinging Z-Fold ~
August 7th, 2011 by Holly McMillen
Oh Happy Day!
After nearly a week in sweltering heat with no air conditioning, we are finally cool again! Hallelujah!! I am baffled, though, as my husband spends 90% of his time out in our garage (read: sauna). Men are weird.
Ok, so this week for the Technique Lover’s challenge we are doing Beate Johns‘ Swinging Z-Fold cards! She posted the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers back in December. It is such a beautiful fold. I think you all are really going to like it. Oh, and it may look intimidating at first, but when you get down to it, it’s quite simple to do!
Here is mine in the closed pose:
Beate’s tutorial shows a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4″ card. I adjusted it a bit and did an A2 sized card.
One hint… if you use white core cardstock, you may wish to sponge the edges with a coordinating ink to hide the fold marks.
Here it is standing front view:
Here are my deets:
Stamps: There She Goes’ Hibiscus and Garden of Friends
Colors: GP White, Chocolate Chip, DCWV Old World dp and Basic Grey dp
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versafine Black Onyx, copics, Tim Holtz distressing inks
Accessories: 7/8″ chocolate grosgrain ribbon, 1/2 pearls, nestabilities dies, hodgepodge hardware, sponge, sticky tape

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll stop over to the challenges forums on Splitcoaststampers and play along!
Hugs!
