Welcome to today’s Ribbon Inspiration challenge brought to you by Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Make sure you stop by Sharon’s blog to find out how you can be eligible to win a sample pack of these gorgeous ribbons!

This week’s focus is on stripes!

Here is my simple offering this week:

I am absolutely in love with this large 1.5″ wide striped grosgrain.  It makes such a bold statement.  I didn’t want a bow on this simple card, so I cut a small piece of it and wrapped it around with another small piece tucked into that.   It was the perfect place to add a faux button and some gold string.

Here are my details:

Stamps:  JustRite Grandma’s doilies, JustRite Deck the Halls

Colors: Ruby Red, Kraft, GP White, Vellum

Ink: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black

Accessories: 1.5″ striped grosgrain (burgandy/ivory) , scalloped circle nestabilities, circle punch, gold embossing powder, Tim Holtz damask embossing folder, Kaisercraft red 1/2 pearls, gold string, dimensionals, sticky tape

Hi Holly! What a pretty card! Love your ribbon and the way you wrapped it around. Different with a bold statement. I love it!! Thanks for your inspiration.

  63. on 31 Oct 2011 at 10:51Gail S.

Loved that way to do the ribbon–and you would probably not have to pay extra to mail it, either. The larger ribbons almost always cost more in postage when they are knotted or bowed because of the thickness involved. I am going to be sure and remember this way to incorporate them!

Terrific card. Your heat embossing came out beautiful (especially considering the fine detail of the stamp). Also enjoyed the “wrapped” ribbon

  67. on 31 Oct 2011 at 20:53Paulette

What an interesting ribbon treatment, because wide ribbon makes a huge bow. I like your alternative.
