~ A Study of the Trees ~
October 2nd, 2017 by Holly McMillen
I’m officially in love with the trees in the new Stamp Simply Clear Stamps’ O Christmas Tree set. And the sentiments that go along with it are perfect.
I wanted to come up with another quick and easy Christmas card that could be mass produced. So I saw a card on Pinterest that was a black based Christmas card and initially I was like… no. Then I embossed this tree in gold on black and instantly knew I was going to love it.
So simple. So striking.
Those red rhinestones just put icing on the cake.
What do you think? Is a black Christmas card a yes?

But that wasn’t it. I remembered an exercise when used to do as members of the Splitcoaststampers’ Dirty Dozen. It was called Less/More. Since the first card was a “Less”, I followed up with a “More”.
Still using the black as a base. This time with added features. A sentiment tag (known as a Levi tag), some holly and ivy sprigs and fun tendrils. The red rhinestones were carried over.
I’m even more in love with the black, now.
I used:

Kaisercraft – Silent Night
