~ Tis the Reason ~
November 26th, 2018 by Holly McMillen
I’m a rebel, if you hadn’t noticed. A rebel in my own mind. I was having coffee with my hubby a couple days ago and we were talking about what I was going to do for my blog post today. When I told him I was going to do a Christmas card with black and gray, he looked at me like I had a third eye growing from my forehead. Yes, I am. And I did.
“Traditional” Christmas cards (red/green) are boring, to me. Yes, I do make them, but only out of duty. I think NO color is off limits when you’re creating.
So here it is…
I learned 2 important lessons when making this card. First, never assume your embossing powder is still good. It does expire. Second, even if you’ve made cards for a lifetime, you still MUST measure twice, cut once. I don’t know how many card bases I’ve cut over the years, and of course, I cut this base wrong the first time.
