patchwork-friend.jpg  Good Morning!

It is a saucy morning here in Western New York.  Not so hot, but muuuuuggy!  I took the opportunity to spend some much needed time in the studio..  I apologize right off for not having a sketch yesterday, but I spent all day at an appointment that should have only taken an hour or so.   Yikes!

First, is my Inspiration card.   I had a tough time choosing which to go with and of course, I decided to DUPLICATE the toughest one.  Each little square (1.5″ x 1″) is embossed with the image and aged with Tim Holtz tea bag distressing ink.  I got a headache trying to figure out the math…. so I called on my 15 yr old to do it for me :)

Here’s the deets:

Stamps:  Oh, So Lovely and Fancy Flexible phrases (SU!)

Colors: Really Rust, Garden Green, River Rock, Summer Sun, Basic Black

Ink: Versamark, prisma pencils, Brilliance Graphite Black, Tim Holtz tea bag distressing ink

Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals, oval punches, copper EP, stipple brush.

Ok, now for the sketch challenge!

Here is our sketch this week (THSC17):

thsc17.JPG   As usual, it’s a suggestion… flip it, embellish, whatever it takes!  This is not a contest… just some fun :).   Per Marisa’s request, I went super easy this week.   Have fun, Marisa :)

Here’s my card for the sketch:

one-and-only.jpg  I went with Bronc Buster as I have only used this set ONCE and have a tough time justifying that.  I need to either use my sets more or start moving them off my shelves and into the sell pile.

Here’s my deets on this one:

Stamps: Bronc Buster, Starstruck (SU!)

Colors:  Chocolate Chip, Mello Moss, Cosmo Cricket DPs (oh so yummy!)

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Accessories: star brads, chocolate velvet ribbon, circle punch, star punch, ticket corner punch, slit punch, dimensionals

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

knotty-smiles.jpg  TGIF!!

Goodmorning!   I’m beginning to think that the person who hid my swiss dots on me has also sucked out my creativity.  I had a heck of a time doing today’s Limited Supply Challenge.   I probably shouldn’t even call this limited, but for me it is.

Ok, so I’m loving the colors I used and the ‘concept’, but the final outcome….eh, not so much.  I don’t usually use so much ‘white space’, but I wanted to try.   This would have pleased me a whole lot more if i owned the SU! scallop punch.   The marvy scallop punch just doesn’t work as well with So Many Scallops.   Ok, enough of my complaining..lol.

My ‘Knots’ are pretty simple, but I gussied them up a little with the wee watercolor leaves.   Hey, this is almost a SUO card!

For those of you waiting on a sketch challenge this week, it will be a little late.   I have to get to an appointment early, but I promise to post by early afternoon.   Please check back!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  So Many Scallops, Wee Watercolors, Small Sayings (all SU!)

Colors:  GP White, Pink Passion, Yo Yo Yellow

Ink: Pink Passion, Green Galore

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop punch, oval punch, circle punch, designer label punch.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

shake-that-booty.jpg Oh, Baby, it’s Wednesday!

That must mean time for a sketch challenge.   Today’s sketch kinda perplexed me.  I had to twist it around to make it work for me.  Have you ever just stood in your studio and looked around with a blank stare?  That was how I started this morning.  I began by just moving things off my desk.  Score!  I found this little baby set by Inkadinkadoo.  I have not even inked it yet, so that was my first inspiration.   I decided to use scraps for the rest.

Oh!  Did one of you sneak into my studio in the last day or so and steal my swiss dots EF????  I cannot find it anywhere!!

I’m meeting up with a SCS friend this afternoon.   I can’t wait.. it’s the second time we’ve met and we have alot in common (duh!).   She’s bringing her kids along so I can meet them, too!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Baby cupcakes by Inkadinkadoo

Colors: Basic Black, GP White, Regal Rose, 2 scoops DP

Ink: Brilliance graphite black, copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop punches, paper piercing tools

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

you-rock.jpg  I feel rushed this morning… it’s already 11:30 and i’m just now getting around to posting something.

I loved Beate’s tutorial for this suprise pop up card.  Thanks to Beth for pointing it out.  Being in a rush, I slapped this baby together in all of 15 minutes.  I used DP for the front (it’s like cardstock), and winged the rest.  I really needed a young boy’s birthday card, so I went with the Pun Fun ellie as my nephew loves ellies.   I also chose the sentiment “You rock” as he is part of a youth band.  What do you all think?  Is it too girlie?

I hope not as I need to mail him something TODAY! :)

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Pun Fun; You Rock by MFT

Colors:  DCWV DP, Lovely Lilac, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Green Galore, Copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop circle punches, scoring blade, sticky tape, designer label punch.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

sweet-pea.jpg   Good morning, ya’ll :)

Ok, so I went to the studio this morning, totally inspired by today’s Inspiration Challenge.  I wanted to create something soft and fluffy…. well, that wasn’t happening.  I kept gravitating towards this piece of DP and I NEED a baby boy card.  Oy.  Ya ever have one of those days when you just fight with yourself?  That’s been my morning so far.  I didn’t want to wake at 4am, but I did.  I wanted coffee, but we are out of creamer and I was being stubborn and wouldn’t use milk.   Well then.. how much fun am I going to be today? LOL

Get this, though…. DH went to Walmart to get an oil change this morning… bright and early.   He calls me from Walmart and asks what size pants i wear.  I’m like “Do NOT buy me clothes!”.   Fast forward 45 minutes and he arrives home with a whole new outfit for me!  The kicker is…I love it!   He gets major kudos for not listening to me.

Soooo… here’s my card for now.  I’m likely to try again :)

 Here’s the Deets:

Stamps: A Muse - baby boy set

Colors: Buckaroo Blue, Certainly Celery, GP White, DCWV DPs

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Wild Wasabi, copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, paper piercing tools, scallop punches, circle punches, oval punch

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

take-a-break.jpg   Oh, Happy Day!

I tell ya, I didn’t think this was going to happen this morning.   When I saw the challenge, I cringed.  Wire?  I got rid of that long ago, so I thought!

A little backstory.. I colored this image yesterday in anticipation of last night’s big MFT reveal party, but we lost power about 9pm and I was unable to finish the sample.   Well,  wanted and needed to finish the card, so I racked my brain this morning trying to figure out how to incorporate wire in such a soft card.  Then it hit me… the plumbing!  Sooo.. my wire is the shower pipe.   It’s a good thing I didn’t need much wire, as what I found was just small pieces in my ‘junk drawer’.

I did a little shopping this morning, too.  I was the first person in the store at Joann’s this morning.  They had a ton of stuff on sale at 30% off!   That made my shopping just that much more productive.   What did I buy?  Well, I purchased a ton of 3M tape, tombow refills, some gorgeous DP, alot of ribbons and I cleared out the supply of Queen and Co. tiny brads.   I also purchased my very first A Muse set!  It is a baby set…. I am in need of one of those.

Ok, now for the card.  The image is VERY SPECIAL.   This is one of the first images in the  My Favorite Things’ Presents line.  The artist is Annie LaPoint.   Loving her designs.. can’t wait to see more!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Take a Break by Annie LaPoint (MFT Presents) - www.mftstamps.com

Colors: Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, GP White, KI Memories DP

Ink: brilliance graphite black, copics

Accessories: tiny brads, ribbon, dimensionals, paper piercing tools, scissors, wire,  swiss dots

sc178-orange-passion-wish.jpg  Good morning, Ya’ll.

Today’s sketch challenge was the perfect chance for me to try out these colors.  I have been seeing alot of pink/orange combinations in advertising and really dig it!

I decided to use the tilted image to make a window for my card.  The image is stamped and colored with copics.  The background is cuttlebugged in non other than swiss dots.   I know, I really need to put that folder to rest! The window is on dimensionals, don’tcha know! :).  Shhhhh, don’t tell, but this is for a very special SCS birthday coming up!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: candle by Hambo Stamps; sentiment is handwritten

Colors: GP White, Pink Passion, Pretty in Pink, Only Orange

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, swiss dots folder, cuttlebug, square punch, slit punch.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

toy-nametag.jpg  I love a challenge, don’t ya know.. :)  Well, a couple months ago, Monica at Hambo Stamps sent the girls on the design team a couple of these clear plastic nametag holders and asked us to create something using it.. The timing was perfect, as I needed a nametag quick for our Western New York gathering.  Monica rocks.

Well, I get this e-mail the other day from Monica (addressed to all us girls) saying she was going to ‘deadline’ us so we’d get them posted :)  I guess Monica knows me better than I thought as I work most comfortably under a deadline.  So, Monica, this is for you :)  I made it! LOL

You can see all the other nametags by visiting the girls’ blogs here:

Isabelle Mung - Inkerbelle’s

Colleen Schaan - Distinctive Touches

Libby Hickson - Libby’s Little Addiction

Monica Hunter - Talk to the Ham

Here’s what I did… I put a mat of Jersey shore DP on Night of Navy cardstock, wrapped some ribbon around the corner, put some tiny brads in the corner (you can hardly see them as they match the paper just a little too well!) and did a little piercing along the bottom.  I stamped the image (Garden snail), colored it and cut out just the snail.  He’s attached to the outside with dimensionals, of course!  Then I punched holes in the top of the tag and loaded it up with matching ribbons.  I decided just to write my name on the tag as I don’t own any alphabet stamps of the right size.. isn’t that a shame!?  LOL :)  I’m told my writing is decent though ;)

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Garden Snail by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Night of Navy, Jersey Shore DP

Ink: Copics, Brilliance Graphite Black

Accessories: nametag holder, ribbon, dimensionals, brads, paper piercing tools, hole punch

Well, tomorrow is the big day!  Our gathering starts at 10:00am!  I’m about 99% done with my projects, etc.  and thought I would share a few things with you.

The former dirty girls (there are four of us attending) are each doing a product demonstration.  Mine will be on the uses of alcohol inks.  Here is my sample card using a background created with alcohol inks…

gathering-demo-card.jpg  I will be posting a tutorial on my blog next week to show how this background was made.  I used some of my left over background to paper piece the vase.  It (the background) has a great textured feel.  I used masking tape, mesh and white glue to give it that texture.

Here’s the deets on this one:

Stamps:  Vases in Vogue (SU!) and sentiment (Rosie’s Roadshow)

Colors: Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Real Red

Ink: Ranger Alcohol Inks, Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, ribbon punch, dimensionals, cuttlebug

**********************************************************************

Also, here are my 3D and Card front swaps!

3d-swap-for-wny-gathering.jpg  For my 3D swaps, I made mini boxes and cards to promote breast cancer awareness.  Each 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch box contains 3 mini reminder cards and envelopes.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps:  Think pink by My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com)

Colors: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, GP White, Regal Rose

Ink: Brilliance Graphite black, copics

Accessories: brads, cuttlebug ribbon die, dimensionals, cuttlebug EF

and for my card fronts:

cf-swap-for-gathering.jpg   Obviously, I am stuck on the black, red, green combination lately!  I just think these colors look so elegant together.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps: Sweet Serendipity (sentiment); Noteworthy (fourish); Wild Rose DD (Rosebud) and mini water colors (leaves); Floral (BG)

Colors: Basic Black, Real Red, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Real Red, Wild Wasabi

Accessories: brads, word window punch, ribbon, scallop punches, dimensionals

Well, that’s it for now.  I will be sharing much more after the gathering tomorrow!

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

dishing-dirt.jpg Let’s!  Here’s the dirt here…. DH is going back to work on Monday!!!!!  Woohoo!!!  All of your prayers and thoughts have really helped.  I can’t thank you all enough.   As much as I’ve complained about him being around all the time, but I’m so going to miss him!  Yeah,  I actually said that.  LOL

I needed to make a sample for the new “Can you dig it?” set from My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com).  This new set is packed with fun!!  I can’t wait to make another one with it.  It has so many different elements…. you really should check it out!

I made my own DP again.  The Basic Gray layer is striped with a black copic.  The smaller Brilliant Blue mat is dotted with a gel pen to match her dress.  Her little spade is cut out and popped on dimensionals.

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Can You Dig It by My Favorite Things

Colors: Brilliant Blue, Basic Gray, Basic Black, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, white gel pen
