easter-blessings.jpg  Good day!  I have a confession to make.  I have been taking some time “off” from stamping/blogging and just spending it with my DH who is currently laid off.   It’s been so nice to have adult conversations (uh, not that kind!), and we’ve been catching up on some things that have been left undone for awhile.  Oh, yes, Marisa… I still owe you a card or two! LOL

I did manage to pull off the Color Combination challenge this morning as I need to make several more Easter cards in the next couple of days.  At first, I didn’t think these colors would work as an Easter card, but I love their subtlety.  I even managed to use my Tres Chic background that had yet to be mounted.   I’m happy with it!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Oh, So Lovely and Tres Chic (both SU!)

Colors: Kraft, Orchid Opulence, Sage Shadow, Basic Black, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite black, Versamark, copics

Accessories: HPH frame and brads, ribbon, dimensionals. scallop circle punches, oval punch, scissors

*************************************************************

I will be making some changes to my box instructions later today.  A couple people have asked for the corrections and I apologize for not doing it sooner.  I simply forgot.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

heathers-bunny-bag.jpg  I am totally goofing off this morning.   There are so many things I could and should be doing, but I had to take the time to make this.   This is Heather’s Bunny bag.   Heather is a sweet little young lady who attends our church.  She is about 8 or 9 years old and has a HUGE crush on my hubby who sings in the church’s praise band.   Every Sunday, Heather seeks out my hubby to give him a hug.   She is the cutest!!

For Heather’s bag, I was inspired by this cutie by jdmommy on SCS.   Since there were no instructions, I created this one on my own.  This is what I did.. first :

card-bag.JPG  For the inside, I created this pocket.  It measures 4.5 x 4 tall when complete.  Then I took two pieces of cardstock measuring 5.5 x 5.25 to create the covers (front and back - sandwich the pocket inbetween them).

I covered my front piece with Basic Grey 2 scoops paper and decorated with Eggstra Special Easter from My Favorite Things.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps: Eggstra Special Easter by My Favorite Things

Colors: Barely Banana (base), GP White,  Regal Rose, Basic Grey 2 scoops DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: mini brads, ribbon, ribbon punch, swiss dots ef, scissors, designer label punch, word window punch, scoring blade

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

crack-pot.jpg   Or, I might as well have called this “Crack Pot”.   The definition of a crackpot is someone who is eccentric with bizarre ideas.  That fits me pretty well! :)

I made this for today’s Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Today’s FS is Petal Pusher (Mary).  You can view her gallery here.    I chose this card of Mary’s to case because, as usual, I loved the layout.  Can you imagine me not loving a card with so many layers?? :)

Since I’m feeling a bit eccentric (crackpot) today, I decided to go with some humor.  I picked this image and sentiment by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com) as it just makes me laugh.  My hubby suggested that I need a ‘plumber’ type saying to go with the image, but I thought this one fit pretty well.. teehee.

Her shirt is paper pieced with Bali Breeze DP and I used a much neglected punch (SU retired - can’t even remember the name of it).  Top layers are on dimensionals.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps: Harvest moon and sentiment by Hambo Stamps

Colors: Basic Gray, GP White, Green Galore, Bali Breeze Dp

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals  and ??? punch (someone tell me what the name of it is, pleeeease)

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

from-our-house.jpgTo yours…. Greetings.  Today’s Featured Stamper on Splitcoasters is Sarah White.  You can see her SCS gallery here or her blog here.   Although I wasn’t a regular in her gallery, I was familiar with Sarah’s work.  I remember the first time her post caught my eye.  It was a delight!   It’s always fun  to find those ‘gem’ galleries.   Sarah has a true gem of a gallery.. please check her out!

I chose THIS card of Sarah’s to case.  I loved the layout.. the colors are great (right up my alley)  and I *knew* exactly what I wanted to do with it..  So this is what I did!    I kept her layout, almost to a T.   I had to change up some very minor details to accomodate my image.   I used SU!’s Neighborhood  Jumbo Wheel that I *had* to have a couple years ago and has never seen ink.   The image was colored with copics… that was fun!  The sentiment is handwritten again.  I really need a printer, but everyone keeps telling me my handwriting is good enough to be a font itself.  LOL.

So here’s the run down:

I kept: colors and layout (except the photo corner as it wouldn’t work for my version)

I changed: image, sentiment and sentiment layering and I added some dimensionals

Stamps:  Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel by Stampin’ Up!, Aida BG

Colors: So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics,  black gel pen

Accessories: red polka dot ribbon, white heart brads, circle punches, designer label punch, dimensionals

flexible-friends.jpg  HA!  Well, I’m a MFTeaser, that’s for sure.  Tonight is the BIG night for the February release party on Splitcoasters… here’s what you need to know..

My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, February 6 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. Lots of fun is planned including finding out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. Head over to the MFT forum on www.splitcoaststampers.com to find out all the details and join us there on Wednesday night.

My first MFTeaser is from the new set “Serenity Now”.   Got my Chi on and made a real simple serene card.  I used the old KISS (keep it simple stupid) method for my layout.. very appropriate I thought, considering the nature of the set. Ohhhhhhhhmmmmmmm.

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ Serenity Now

Colors: Basic Black, Basic Grey, Real Red, Georgia Pacific White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: Build a Brad, ribbon, dimensionals

lets-monkey-around.jpg   Ok, now let’s get back to the REAL fun!  The new “Twisted Sentiments” set has unlimited possibilities.   With sentiments like, Capable of Multiple Stampgasms and Nice Package… oh but there’s more.  Just wait til you see!   “Let’s Monkey Around” was my choice de joir.   Paired with these adorable monkeys from the It’s a Jungle out There (My Favorite Things), this makes a really fun card for the boys!  I know my DH is really enjoying these cards :).

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ It’s a Jungle out There and Twisted Sentiments

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa

Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Wild Wasabi, Cocoa Bean and Copics

Accessories:  Brads, ribbon, dimensionals

size-matters.jpg  Ok, last one for tonight.  I’ve stamped my little fingers off today!  Using the small packages from MFT’s Shower Time and a big package (drawn by none other than ME! :)  )… this bright cheery cards says what we all think but won’t admit….Size Matters!   Especially when you’re talking about those boxes of stamps!  I did a little stippling on the YoYo Yellow to soften it a bit, but I wanted to go BOLD on this.

Stamps:  My Favorite Things’ Shower Time and Twisted Sentiments

Colors:  Tempting Turquoise, GP White, Basic Black, Yo Yo Yellow

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics, Tombow black marker (to draw my big package)

Accessories:  Brads, ribbon, dimensionals

Whew, Ok!  That’s it for tonight!   I hope you will meet us over on Splitcoasters at 9 tonight for all the mayhem!

TFL!~
