lucky-duck.jpg   Welcome to my Thursday! :)

Oh!  I really loved Julia’s Ways to use It challenge this morning!  I like mini things :)   I really went all out.  I made 2 mini cards and a mini wallet to hold them.

Here’s what’s mini…. I used a ‘mini’ set from Joann’s $1 spot, I used mini brads and mini ribbon.   I can’t claim the wallet as my idea…. I saw this wallet at Tracy’s (LodiChick) house the other night and since I adore everything Tracy creates, I decided to make one, too.  You can see hers on her blog here.  I didn’t get dimensions on hers,  so I just made them up to fit my 3 1/2 x 4 3/4″ cards.

For the wallet, I took a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and cut it 5 3/4″ x 12″… I then scored the long side at 4″, 4 1/8″, 8 1/8″, 8 1/4″ and then fold.  Then I decorated the inside with some DP (Jersey Shore) and then decorated the outside to match the cards.

Here’s a picture of the inside:

lucky-duck-inside.jpg  as you can see, there is room for a couple cards and a couple evelopes.  In retrospect, I might make it a little bigger next time as I used dimensionals on my cards and they are a tight squeeze :).

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Joann’s $1 spot mini set

Colors:  Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Bliss Blue, GP White, Jersey Shore DP

Ink:  Brilliance graphite black, copics

Accessories: mini brads, mini ribbon, dimensionals, scallop circle punches, sticky tape (1/4″)

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!

the-greens.jpg  Good morning girls!

I’ve got the greens, today (as opposed to the blues!).   I was thinking about my future with Stampin’ Up! this morning and getting a little melancholy for some of my older sets.   Vases in Vogue has always been a favorite.. I’ll never let it go,  but the first weekend in August, I’m having a garage sale and will be letting alot of sets go :(.

Today’s Ways to Use It Challenge is to use scoring.   Hmmm… where is that scor-pal I’ve been meaning to buy?  I actually scored the piece of DP on this, but then promptly discovered you couldn’t see it!  The certainly celery mat at the bottom is scored diagonally, meeting in the middle.  Hard to see, I know.  Trust me, it’s there.. LOL

Ya know what warms my heart?  Generosity!   If you have a minute, please check out Hambo Stamps’ blog Talk To The Ham.   Monica and Tim, being the generous people they are … are donating 15% of all sales receipts for the month of July to a friend who is in need of a wheelchair van.   Please check it out and if you haven’t ordered from Hambo yet… now is the time.  :)

Here’s my deets for today’s card:

Stamps:   Vases on Vogue by Stampin’ Up!

Colors: Old Olive, Certainly Celery, GP White, CC Designer series DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scoring blade, oval scallop punches

TFL!~ and have a blessed day~!

stay-cool.jpg ….. by the Pool!

I totally got into today’s Ways To Use It Challenge.. (ric rak).  I have been hoarding ribbons forever, but way in the back of my drawer, I knew I had this awesome string of star ric rak and had to use it.   This could be a pool party invite (only I don’t have a pool!)… heehee.

Ok, so I received a wonderful ‘care package’ from Monica at Hambo Stamps yesterday and I could NOT wait to ink up new rubber, so I picked out this adorable hippo sunbathing in his kiddie pool.  Since it’s almost summer, I chose red/white/blue combo, because that just makes me think summer!

Summer IS almost here, though the cool temps are keeping us inside most of the day.  Is the weather just too weird or what??  Hmmmm….

Ok, here’s my deets:

Stamps: Pool Hippo and Stay Cool by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors:  Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, GP White, Real Red

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, White Craft, copics

Accessories: tiny brads, dimensionals, red and blue ric rak, white star ric rak,  swiss dots EF

life-journey.jpg Suprise, suprise!

I was so not going to do today’s challenge.  Not because it’s uncool or anything, but i have a really busy day ahead.  Then I saw the challenge.  I have a large stack of pictures taken in Colorado that I never know what to do with… well I think I found the perfect one!

Here’s what I did… first layer (River rock) is cut with my rotary cutter, giving it a neat edge.. then I took a piece of Hambly grid acetate and popped that over the top.  My main image is popped on top of that.  A whole lotta dimension going on here :)

I’m pleased as punch how it turned out.  I adore these colors together :)   I think this would make a great card for a man going on a journey (trip).

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Sentiment by Delta

Colors: Basic Gray, Basic Black, River Rock, hambly grid acetate

Ink: White craft

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, photo, hole punch

going-places.jpg  Good morning to ya!

Today’s Ways To Use It Challenge (WT168-get packing), got me.   I have packing tape, duct tape, all kinds of tapes, but do you think I could think of ONE thing to do this morning with my limited time?  Noooooooo.  So I went with safe and chose the travel theme instead.   Besides, my auntie and uncle are leaving on a trip to Amsterdam in a few weeks.   I thought a Bon Voyage card would be in order :).

The dress is paper pieced, then the entire image is cut and popped on dimensionals.   I use to have tons of travel themed papers.. we had a travel theme month when I was on the dirty dozen team.   Do you think I can find those puppies, now? LOL.. nope.

Well, it’s our anniversary today.  Twenty six (26) years.   And they said it wouldn’t last.. heehee.  We are not celebrating too much…. possibly a dinner out, but we’ve decided that a cruise for our 30th is what we really want, so we are in the planning stages!  I’m bucking for western caribbean, while DH would like to see Alaska.    Hopefully, we come to some agreement or we’ll be taking separate cruises! :)  Just kidding.

Here’s my deets:

Stamps:  Going Places by My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com)

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, DCWV DPs.

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics, white gel pen for accents.

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, circle punch, scallop punch, scissors.

TFL!~ and have a blessed day.

farley.jpg Wow, can you believe it?  Two posts in one morning.  I didn’t think I would get any fun stamping stuff done today, but when I saw this morning’s Way to Use it Challenge (masculine cards), I knew I had to pull Farley out for a quick thank you.   There is a sweet man at my church who subs for my Bible Study class when I’m not able to be there and I owe him a big thank!

I’m also posting this as our sketch challenge this week as I am so unsure of what tomorrow is going to bring.  I have several appointments and don’t know when I’ll be home.  So…….

thsc14.JPG  As you can see this sketch (THSC14) is wide open for interpretation.  Flip it, embellish it, have fun with it!  Please link back here or use keyword THSC14 in your SCS upload so we can see what you’ve created!

Here’s my deets:

Stamps: Farley by Anna Wight (Whipper Snapper designs); starstruck by SU!

Colors: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bliss Blue, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, white gel pen, copics, black fine tip marker

youre-on-a-roll.jpg  Hi kids! :)

Today’s Ways to Use It challenge called for “inchies”.    I’ve heard of inchies before, but had never seen what they are, so i’m winging it here.   My “inchies” are toilet paper rolls!

Maybe it’s ME that’s on a roll, as I can’t stop with the humorous cards lately.   I guess it’s because I feel like I have spent the last few months doing sympathy and get well card.   I NEED a little humor!   So,  I pulled out this Gina K. set that has never seen ink (it hadn’t even been cut! The horror!).   I saw this set when  Jeanne S on Splitcoasters posted a card some months back and I *had* to have it!  Potty humor is big in a house with 5 men! LOL

Here’s the deets!:

Stamps:  Way to Go by Gina K. Designs

Colors: Pumpkin Pie, Bliss Blue, Wild Wasabi, Summer Dps, Gp White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scissors, cuttlebug

TFL!~ and have a humorous day!  Oh and have a blessed day, too!

congrats-sami.jpg  Oy!  What a way to start my day… first,  I wanted to share my niece’s graduation card.  Sami is my youngest neice and is graduating with her degree in arts.  She is a very gifted photographer.   We are heading down to her graduation party on Sunday and will be celebrating Mother’s Day as well.

Why oy?  Well, Wednesday I got a call that my mil is in the hospital.   Nothing life threatening, but at age 82, most trips to the hospital are a huge deal.   We’re praying she is released in time for Sami’s party.

Ok, back to the card.  Sami is artsy person, so I went a little non traditional on this card.  Since yesterday’s challenge was to use chipboard and i don’t have much, I chose to monogram her card with a great big S.  I covered the S in basic grey blush paper and roughed up the edges a bit.

Here’s the deets on this one:

Stamps:  Birdie and Branch by Verve Visual; Sentiment by My Favorite Things

Colors: (I’m using up scraps here!)  Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral and Basic Grey Blush DPs

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black

Accessories: brads, ribbon, chipboard, scissors, nail file, slit punch, scissors, paper piercing tools

sunflower-for-you.jpg    Now on to today’s sketch challenge!   I went with one that will work well as a tall card, square card or regular card.  Simple layout, but lots of possibilities!

here’s THSC12’s layout:

thsc12.JPG   As always, remember, there is no wrong or right card.  This is just a jumping off point for whatever you can create!  I encourage you to use keyword THSC12 in your SCS upload or link back here so we can see what you’ve done!

Here’s my deets on this one:

Stamps:  Sunflower, Pot and Sentiment by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Chocolate Chip, Mello Moss, Really Rust, GP White, MME Dps

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories:  Brads, ribbon, dimensionals, circle punches, scissors, cuttlebug birds and swirls EF

happy-trails-multiple-challenge.jpg  Wow!  I can’t believe it’s Friday again!  The week has flown by.  I’m still quite busy with gathering preparations, but took  time out this morning to do a sketch for ya’ll (THSC10) and to cover a couple of SCS challenges as well.

My card is 4″ x 8″ and fits in a standard business envelope.   I was looking for a way to use some smaller or longer stamps with this layout and of course, went for my Hambos again.   Today’s LSC challenge is to make a tall or long card.  I also used acrylic buttons to cover yesterday’s WT challenge.

Here’s the sketch:

thsc10.JPG  As usual, this is open for interpretation!  No wrong or right cards.  Please use keyword THSC10 in your description so I can see it when you’re done, or link back here :)

Here’s the deets on my card:

Stamps:  Snail and Happy Trails sentiment by Hambo Stamps (www.hambostamps.com)

Colors: Night of Navy, GP White, Pumpkin Pie, Bliss Blue

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: buttons, embroidery floss, ribbon, dimensionals, circle punch, designer label punch, oval punch

Now for a blast from my past….. I was looking up my high school’s reunion webpage the other day and found my senior picture!

reinders_holly.jpg   We are planning our 30th high school reunion in 2010…. I better get busy if I want to look anything like I did back then! LOL

just-a-note.jpg   Today’s Ways to Use It Challenge is to use ‘music’ as an inspiration.

Let me tell you, I am probably the least musical person alive.  I love to listen to music, but I can never remember words (yeah, I’m one that makes up my own) and I can’t carry a tune to save my soul.

When I saw the challenge, however, I *KNEW* I had to use my new Allegro embossing folder.  I bought it to do cards for the musical people in my life (my whole family),  but for the life of me,  I couldn’t think of any stamps to go with it!   I searched my stash and found Mini Mates!  Right on!!  I was saved.  LOL.

Feeling a little less than creative this morning, I went with a layout I’ve used before, with some minor (get it?!) changes.  And, since they are my favorite colors, I went with the ever gorgeous RED/BLACK/WHITE combo.   With all those decisions out of the way, this took me all of 15 minutes to make.  Me likes!

Here’s the deets:

Stamps: Mini Mates (SU!)

Ink: Real Red, white gel pen

Colors: Basic Black, Real Red, GP White

Accessories: Brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop punches, circle punches

TFL!~ and have a blessed day!
